Violent Femmes As A Cure For Writer’s Block…

Violent-Femmes-

I’ve hit one of those periods ofday job burn-out that has been going on for so long that I cannot even remember the last time I wrote anything of value…or anything at all. I have so many unfinished writing projects, but even thinking about them seems impossible. To try to force myself out of that scorching valley of despair, I decided to write something here about one of my favorite topics, and hopefully get the writing juices flowing a little bit.

Tonight, and in honor of their current tour...

Reba, Fests, and Free Stuff

reba

Hi Everyone!

So last night I had the opportunity to see Reba McEntire at a private show. I went in liking Reba, I came out loving Reba, and cannot get “Fear of Being Alone” and “Is There Life Out There” out of my head….just had to put it out there, cause now I feel like the world needs more Reba!

Now, onto this writingbusiness…InMayI am participating in the My Crazy Corner Romance Blogest. Unrequited will be featured on May 8th, along with a special post. I’m also personally giving a way a c...

In Celebration of TV SuperCouple Theme Songs…

There was a lot of stuff that made the 1980’s awesome…Fashion Plates,Burple, Woodsy the Owl. For all the things that were great, and should make a comeback, one item I particularly miss is the television supercouple theme song.

Relegated mostly to soap operas, the supercouple song would pop up during dramatic or romantic moments. The song would become so much a part of the couple, that you could not help think of them whenever you heard it.

While shows today may still assign a signature songto t...

Things You Notice As An Adult – Sound of Music Edition

sound of music

Every year around Christmas-time, I end up watching The Sound of Music. I love the songs. I love the scenery. I love the green curtain dresses, and I especiallylove the idea of having a dedicated area in the house for elaborate puppet shows.

There is one thing that I love now, however, that I did not always appreciate:

Christopher Plummer is a dreamboat.

Christopher Plummer

As a child, I found Captain Von Trapp to be a little scary. He was exceptionally stern. He didn’t seem to smile or blink through the first part...

Christmas (movie) Christmas (movie) Time is Here…

Like a lot of gals, I am addicted to the made-for-tv Christmas movies that pop up on the Hallmark and Lifetime channels. I love watching two people, who hate and/or don’t knoweach other, end up snowed in at a cabin…or trapped together on a road trip…or forced to pretend they are a couple to appease their overbearing matchmaker parents.

I have my favorite go-to movies that have come out over the years(A Season for Miracles, 12 Dates of Christmas, and so on), but all other movies have been trump...

One Down, One To Go…

As the release date forUnrequited approaches (Sept. 23rd!!!), I’m faced witha harsh reality…I have to write a sequel!

Without giving too much away, Unrequited is set up to roll into a second book. This is something I knew I was going to do from the moment I started writing the story. I have hoped readers would understand that the story of Ashton, Will and Griffin won’t end with this book…and now I just hope that the second installment, whatever it becomes, will live up to the characters and th...

After the Party It’s the After-Party, and Before the Order It’s the Pre-Order…

Unrequited_Cover

So, have you ever had one of those days where you are notified that your book is available for pre-order, and you are still sitting on a pile of revisions that are due in two days?

That’s the turn this day has taken. Complaining? No way, cause I always vowed that I would never complain about doing the thing I love. Anxious? Perhaps, as evidenced by theempty wrappers fromstress eating Cadbury mini eggs while trying to figure out another way to say “was” and “were”.

And, because I owe it to my bo...
