Today’s the day I get to share my new book cover!!! This beauty is the result of the hard work of Ana Hard (the artist) and Maeve Norton (the designer). I love it so much, and think it represents the book so well — colorful and romantic and political and current.

Update! Maddox Lyons’s, @MizDanaClaire‘s, and my picture book I’M NOT A GIRL will now be published on August 4th! If you’ve preordered (thank you!!!), no worries—the book will just arrive in August instead of May.

It’s official! I have a new novel coming out in 2021!!!!

I’ve mentioned a few times on here that I’ve been writing a new book these past couple of months… Well, it’s called FOLLOW YOUR ARROW, and I’m pretty psyched about it—and especially for the opportunity to work with @scholasticinc and @aimeefriedmanbooks again!!!!! Here’s the official @pwkidsbookshelf announcement!

I am beyond thrilled and honored to share the cover for our upcoming picture book I’M NOT A GIRL, co-written by Maddox Lyons and myself, illustrated by Dana Simpson.

This book has already been on quite a journey, and I’m so excited for it to finally be published on May 26, 2020. Maddox (who, by the way, is the coolest 12-year-old on the planet) and Dana did something really special here, friends. There are no words to express what a privilege it’s been for me to help bring it to fruition.

First, Rachel Lyons’s and my upcoming picture book, formerly known as The Haircut and Hannah Is a Boy, has a new title. It’s now called I’m Not a Girl!

Next, and even more exciting, our FIRST CHOICE illustrator has joined the book’s creative team, and we couldn’t be happier! Thank you, Dana Simpson, for joining us on this journey.

Just wait until you see her illustrations, friends. Swoon!
