Ready for your next read? The Muse is live
I'm excited to announce that my new verse novel, The Muse is now available wherever you get your books.
The Muse
About The Muse:
The scandalous novel readers are calling 'stunning' and 'a feast for the senses.'
In Georgian London, Elizabeth spends her precious free time painting watercolour flowers at the kitchen table. Art is not only an escape from the monotony of chores but a way to find a suitable husband who can give her security and a stable future. That was all she ever wanted until she met John, a talented painter with connections and patrons, who offered to take her on as a student and model for his new works.
Being given the freedom to paint what she likes, Elizabeth is quickly seduced by John’s world: art, beautiful women, wealthy patrons, and the opportunity to earn her own money by becoming London’s premiere erotic portrait artist. But her newfound freedom comes at a cost and when her business is picked up in London’s scandal papers, there’s no way to go back to the stable life she once craved.
This novel-in-verse is a scandalous and seductive love story of a young woman thrust into the indulgent world of art, sex, and money.

"How is the writing going?"
It's been nearly four years since I've published a book. I hate thinking about how long it's been since I've completed a project but I've found it hard to carve the time out to properly write: uninterrupted and fully immersed.
When I was writing full time, I was alone most days either in my flat in Richmond, Virginia when my partner was at his job or at my parent's house when they were out working. I had solitude and a routine. I had a designated writing place. I had hours of uninterrupted tim...

'Fault' in the wake of #MeToo
Trigger Warning: This article discusses sexual assault and sexual harassment.
I wrote, edited, and published my verse novel Fault in a whirlwind three months in late 2012/early 2013. Now, with the #MeToo movement calling out the rampant sexual harassment and sexual assault in Hollywood and across other industries, I can look back on writing Fault and how things have changed since I sat down at my laptop to type out the first few words of my most personal novel to date.

Happy Birthday to Me Giveaway [Enter to Win 3 Books!]
My birthday's tomorrow and I am... excited... I guess. I think I'm finally starting to realise that the older you get, the less fun birthdays are. I think the way to cope with this feeling is to eat too much cake, drink (a bit) too much wine, and give away some books.
I've done birthday giveaways in the past but this is my biggest one yet.
Two winners, three books each!
One winner will receive a paperback copy of all three of my books, Thinspo, Fault, and Girls Who Wear Pink. The second winner w...

Other goals and aspirations for 2018
In my last post, I talked about my writing goals for 2018 (which I consider a bit lofty for having not written much since 2015 but I digress) but I've spent the past few days thinking about the things I'd like to accomplish personally in 2018. Last year was a really tough year for me personally and I'd like to make some big changes this year to help improve myself both physically and mentally.
1. Read more. This is probably my biggest goal and something I really want to do for myself. I haven'...

Don't call it a resolution: 2018 edition
Well this blog has been dead for a while, hasn't it? And I can't guarantee that it'll be updated on a daily/weekly basis going forward BUT I've got a lot of exciting upcoming events in the new year so I figured what better time to resurrect my author blog?
I've taken a VERY long hiatus from writing. It's partially because I burnt myself out writing full time back in the day. It's partially left over burn out from reading so much doing my undergraduate degree (am I still allowed to use this exc...

Our trip to Barcelona
Pete and I just took a fantastic (and very, very well needed) holiday to Barcelona this week and after a long day of delayed flights, etc yesterday, I am sitting on my couch in my pajamas and giant sweater drinking green tea again.
The past few days were a whirlwind of walking (SO MUCH WALKING!), sightseeing, and swimming. I thought I'd share a few shots from our amazing trip.
Until next time, Barcelona.
