Nancy Bevilaqua was born in New York City. After studying English Literature and Creative Writing at Reed College and New York University, she worked for ten years as a caseworker and counselor for people with AIDS, the homeless, and people in drug treatment programs.

She has also worked as a freelance writer, specializing in travel; her articles, essays, and photography have appeared in National Geographic Traveler, Coastal Living, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, several in-flight magazines, and many other publications.

After a sixteen-year hiatus, Nancy began writing poetry again. Her work has appeared in or is forthcoming from West Branch, Whiskey Island, Tupelo Quarterly, Hubbub, MadHat Lit, Juked, Hermeneutic Chaos, Tinderbox, Rust+Moth,

I've been laying low for quite some time, and I've moved (thank God!) from Florida back to New Jersey. A lot has changed, and life is good.
