What is about these Beachwood Bay books that makes me FEEL so much?? I don’t even know how to describe it but they are so emotional and intense that I find myself literally gasping with how much my heart aches for these characters. It’s like everything that is happening to them is happening to me.

That is definitely the sign of a great writer and Melody Grace is amazing!! I have loved every single book in this series since way back when I read Unbroken and first fell in love with Juliet and Emerson. Each book just seems to get better and better :)
Unconditional is the story of Carina and Garrett. We meet them in previous books but it was nice to finally read their story. I will note that while this book is #6 in a series and I HIGHLY recommend you read them all, it can also be read as a stand alone. Carina is the sister of Juliet whom we meet in Unbroken. She has definitely not been a favorite character of mine prior to this book. She came across as shallow, unfeeling, cold and downright bitchy until I got to know her better in Unconditional.  Garrett is the good time, bartending playboy that hooks up with pretty much anything in a skirt.
What we learned of their stories in the previous books doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of what these two have been through and what kind of people they are. Carina thought she had it all figured out. Find the rich, handsome, perfect husband and live happily ever after in her Better Homes and Gardens house while serving on charities and lunching with her friends. Unfortunately for Carina that kind of life isn’t all it is cracked up to be and she finds out her “perfect on paper” fiance is a monster on the inside. After his true, abusive side comes out, Carina leaves and goes back to Beachwood Bay to hide out and figure out what to do with her life now that her fantasy has been shattered.

Garrett has recently purchased Emerson’s bar and is trying to get his life in order. He has suffered great loss in the past and has some serious commitment issues as a result. Garrett only uses women to fulfill his needs and then moves on before any attachment can be formed. You will definitely fall in love with Garrett...there is NO avoiding it! He is gorgeous, crazy sexy and he calls her darlin’. All of these things will make you love him, but what I really loved about him was his protective side.

When Garrett and Carina come together, the sparks fly and they have a hard time avoiding the feelings they have for each other. At first Garrett only sees Carina as he always has...until he gets to know her.
“That girl’s a mystery, I just can’t seem to figure out. One minute she’s playing the society bitch, sneering down her nose at me, and the next, it’s like she’s someone else completely. The mask slips, and suddenly I see a different girl underneath it all: someone raw, fragile and achingly real.”
They really try to fight their attraction to each other but soon give in to their crazy connection and when they do, the sex is off the charts HOT HOT HOT!! Carina has never experienced anything like it and only wants more. Garrett is scared of what he feels for Carina and starts to pull away. Of course they will drive you crazy and you will want to slap them both upside the head, particularly Garrett. But you will also cry for them and your heart will ache with all that they have been through. Will these two ever get it together and overcome their issues so that they can be where they so obviously belong….together?!?!?! I cannot recommend this series and this book enough. Unconditional was a big 4 star read for me and I promise you will love it!

Grief is a powerful emotion but there are several different kinds of grief. Betrayal and heartache are still knocking on her door. Things are about to come crashing down around her. It will definitely break her, but will Royal be enough to save her?

Make me was by far my absolute favorite book by Amanda Heath. After reading Channing and Paisly's story in Make Me, I was very curious to know how Amanda would top it… But Break Me surpassed every expectation and then some.

What I loved about Wesley & Royal's story was that it was addictive, and I couldn't put it down. I related to Wesley in so many ways, and swooned like crazy when Royal swooped in and tried to save her. Wesley was such an amazing character and had to deal with so much at such a young age and it wasn't surprising that she cracked. After the death of her boyfriend, Wesley finds herself withering way for six long, painful months, until she's asked to tutor Royal in History. She's intrigued by him, but because of a stupid feud between her cousin Pierce and Royal's best friend, Channing, she has to keep their 'relationship' a secret.

Things take a turn when Wesley realizes that she can no longer rely on her best friends Annabella and Pierce to help her out of her mess of a life because they do't know how to help her, but then Royal steps up and somehow helps her put the pieces back together.

“You can push me all you want, girl, but I’m not going to run. I have a twin sister. I know how you teenage girls work. You want me to run so I’ll let you live alone in your misery, but that’s not going to happen. I won’t let you shrivel up and die, Wesley…You showed me a side of you that I don’t think anyone has ever seen. That means something to me, whether you like it or not. I’m here for you. Remember that always.” 

There aren't enough stars in my rating system to give this book the rating it deserves. I think Amanda Heath wrote an exceptional story with characters that are relatable. I loved Wesley, especially when it felt like she was talking to the reader. She was telling her story, but at the same time made it feel like you were part of it. Royal proved to be quite a conundrum - he comes across as arrogant, and quite snobbish, but when he's with Wesley (or his Duchess, as he calls her), he becomes this sweet, patient, loving man. The group of characters (except the horrid bitch Annabella!) are (in my opinion) more mature than most people their age and I think that aspect of the story lends itself to the emotional side of this story in particular. Amanda Heath has such a unique story-telling ability and you will either love her books or you'll hate them. Fortunately, Amanda knows where I stand on this issue ;) <3

His lips are suddenly on mine, devouring them in his haste. It's delicious and dizzying, making my knees incredibly weak.

His hands reach the waistband of my jeans, lifting my shirt a bit. His warm fingers skim over my bare skin causing the biggest shiver.

My hands go over his chest, then over his shoulders, up his neck and into his hair.

His tongue slowly reaches out licking at my lips. I open immediately to let him in.

Wait. What am I doing? We are in the library!

I break away from his lips saying, "Stop." My voice is breathless. I drop my arms from around his neck. I feel my cheeks are flushed and notice his are as well.

He backs his face away, blinking several times, "What?" His tone is confused.

I blink a few times myself. Why did I make him stop? "Shut up," I tell him before reaching around his neck and bringing my lips back to his. His tongue immediately enters my mouth again, and he groans. The sound vibrates over my own tongue and I clutch harder to his shoulders.

His hands glide along my lower back, leaving behind goose bumps. “I’ve been waiting to do this for forever,” he whispers, nipping at my lips.

“Then why didn’t you?” I ask sucking his lower lip into my mouth.

He takes the kiss back over and pushes me harder into the bookshelf I just realized we are leaning up against. “Because you weren’t ready.” He’s still whispering, his lips barely brushing mine.

“I’m definitely ready now,” I mumble reaching for his lips again.

He smiles, looking down at me. His hands leave my waist and cup the sides of my face. “I know. That’s why I’m kissing you, girl.” His nose nuzzles along my cheek and I tighten my fists in his hair.

His lips start back for mine, but then we are interrupted. “Really? In the library?” Channing’s voice drifts over to my ears and I close my eyes tightly.
