The Poetry Diaries Remastered Brings New Light To The Original

Self Published author Shellie Palmer set out on her writing journey in 2013 with her then first book, a compilation of poetry and testimonials which takes readers into her story of life, disability, depression anxiety and truth. The Poetry Diaries had a rough start with mixed reviews. It eventually was recognized for its purpose to connect, to help others see life differently. Realistic Poetry International gave the book hope, shed light on the world. It was merely a body of work quite di...

How My Writing Is Affecting My Mental Health

As of lately going through the writing, editing and proof reading of re mastered versions of the first book of the series The Poetry Diaries including the work with the second have found myself reliving it all which has put quite a strain on my mental and emotional well being. Living with major depression, GAD ( generalized anxiety disorder) high functioning and PTSD is enough but when it interferes with the writing process I’m open to those vulnerabilities and memories. It is quite ...

Travels and Destinations

I’m not a self proclaimed jet setter, adventurer, though I do wander quite often. Curious what’s out there in the world. I want to see and do as much as possible in my lifetime. Making life count with my travels whether big or small. I love nature, being one with the world, view and take it all in, in stride. I could honestly sit around all day every single day with nothing on my plate. It’s honestly boring, and for one it isn’t keeping me active. The more I see the more I do. Move over ...

Newly Re Mastered Book Series

I began my self publishing career and journey in 2013 with only knowing little how to self publish and what to do with my book, which there was only one to begin with at the time not even realizing there were several layers to my life and journey. I became a self proclaimed extrovert in my introverted world. An open book. I had been told if you tell everything you know you won’t know anything at all. Wisdom from my mom I remain to carry with me to this very day. How could I write my life wi...

All With Time: Life As An Independent Author

Not much has progressed with writing as to the book series, re released versions over the course of the past couple of years due to loss of interest, life difficulties, hardship, private matters and such. I honestly didn’t want to even write when I felt to. What has changed? Why did I not feel to write? I had enough going on to write about, I just wasn’t into it. My passion and purpose was to remain a continued encourager encouraging others to full fill their dreams. So what happened to mine...

Follow You’re Own Journey

I’ve been traveling through life on a difficult stand point for quite some time now. Privately speaking family life isn’t talked about really. I keep it to myself. Some people have asked me why I don’t. I give them this specific answer. If I told you everything I know I wouldn’t know anything at all. My private life is off limits. My parents raised me that way. When it comes to my personal life though I’m an open book henceforth it is why I write, to talk about the journey I’m on and where ...

Life Adventures Are Worth Taking

My travels throughout 2020 put a new perspective on life altogether. These travels were far or close to home. I found a hidden gem with each trip I took. Going as far to Columbus, Lorain and Cleveland. Cleveland Metro Parks have several park landscapes. I was in complete awe with each place I’d visit. A favorite of mine, Rocky River Reservation. The river itself travels through the park into the next. The interlock is fabulous. I highly recommend anyone and everyone to at least visit o...

Living With Mental Health During A Pandemic

Here I am again going through the motions on navigating through the ups and downs. What can I say the past 6 months my mental health has been on a roller coaster of sorts as to when the pandemic outbreak began. Isolation wasn’t so bad at the beginning until after the shut down. I had to find ways around it at times. Staying productive enough mentally worked well, yet it was my Ohio park travels that gave me the time to listen to my body, reflect and write. Yes, I wrote mostly on my...
