I'm happy to announce that Dulce Truths is now on sale.

It's a Book 2, the first being Dulce Base.

That one came out in 2014, so it's been awhile.

Nonetheless, the book is done. It's exciting. It's action-packed. And it's got more alien and uflolgy conspiracies than you can shake a stick at.

How about dogfights in space...you like those?

This book has 'em.

What about time travel and teleporters?

Yep, got that too.

There's also a lot of intrigue, backstabbing, and suspense.

Dulce Truths

I'm happy to announce that Rose's Rage is now on sale.

It's the 11th volume of the Mountain Man Series.

Usually I have to upload a book when I publish it, but I was saved the effort this time when someone marked it as "currently reading."

Alas, they didn't much like it and gave it a 2-star review.

Oh well.

I'm starting off 2017 by reading lots of comics.

I'm getting these from the library, graphic novel formats that collect a bunch of issues in one.

So far I've done two great Daredevil collections that Frank Miller did in the 1980s.

I'm reading through the 7-volume Amazing Spiderman collections that start with the early-1960s comics.

I'm doing quite a bit of old Superman too. I started with the 1993 Death of Superman and now I'm going back to some of his adventures from the 1980s.

I'm really limited by what my library has. For instance, I'd love to re-read all the old Spawn comics from Image, but the library only has Volume 2 and nothing else.

Anyways, just a nice break from your usual fiction/nonfiction books.

I'll be doing NaNoWriMo again this year, or National Write a Novel Month for the non-writers out there.

I'm doing it now, actually, and on the 4th day out I'm up to 12,000 of the 50,000 words.

I started this in 2013 and have written and published my NaNo book each year.

Together those three books have sold 687 copies.

This year I'm working on a book about fur trappers and mountain men on the Upper Missouri in 1812.

It's going well and I think people will like the book.

I'm heading out to Oregon for a short vacation.

I'll be going to a small town of 700 called Yachats.

I'm leaving the computer at home, and no, I don't have a smart phone.

So hopefully I'll get some reading done...and hopefully the lack of technology/internet won't drive me batty.

It'll probably be good for me.

Why are these books still here on my "currently reading" list?

Some of them have been there for quite awhile, like Rama II, which I haven't touched since finishing page 56 way back in March 2015.

I've read that book before, however, so it's not too bad. That's no excuse for The Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and the Golden Age of Journalism, which I've been reading since December 2014.

I find the book to be quite detailed, and often quite boring, so there it's sat, on the "currently reading" shelf.

Oftentimes these books make us feel bad, staring at us there on our Goodreads homepage, wondering why we've abandoned them.

Perhaps we should just do away with them and click "read" and maybe even write a short review.

I haven't gotten to that point on these two yet, however, so stare at me they will.

Wow, I'm really putting 'em away this month!

So far in June I've read 6 books.

Yeah, might not sound like a lot but I've only read 17 books this year.

Yep, need to get going if I want to finish that 60-book Goodreads challenge (knew I should have only went for 30).

Anyways, a big help have been the audio books I'm listening to while doing jig-saw puzzles.

It's fun to listen to those and I'll have to get more from the library.

They All Died is now on sale.

It's a western, and at 51 pages, a short one at that.

It takes place in Montana Territory in 1867.

We see bandits, gamblers, vigilantes, sheriffs, marshals, Indians, and politicians.

They all meet on the dusty roads between the gold mining towns.

They learn firsthand the savagery of the West.

I took the The Atlantis Gene off my To-Read List today.

The reason was simple - Goodreads continually sends me emails that this book is now having a give-away.

Great.

I've seen that email for the past 2 years almost. Never once have I won that giveaway.

Frankly, I'm sick of seeing those emails.

So I took the book off my to-read list.

I guess I could bore you with talk about my books today, but I won't.

Instead I'll bore you with talk about gardening!

Currently I have a catnip plant that I started from seeds. I have this huge, multi-gallon pot that I'm going to transplant that sucker in. Boy, the neighbor cats will like my house.

I randomly threw some sunflower seeds outside a couple months ago and they're already growing pretty big. I bet they'll be opening up in June sometime.

The tomato seeds I planted are still on the widow inside and once it gets warmer I'll move 'em out.
