what the fuck happened to liz phair?

I was once a huge admirer of Liz Phair… but that was long ago. Recently I picked up her memoir titled Horror Stories. The writing reminded me of the kind of pap that I saw in a writing class I took in my early 20s. There was a bunch of middle-aged women in the class who were trying to justify their existence by writing poorly about it… The formula basically goes like this:
1) start off with a scen

I'm about to read a non-fiction book by Ed Hamilton titled Legends of the Chelsea Hotel so I was wondering if it would be possible to start a thread in your group for it?

Patricia Puddle Hi Ed, thanks for the friend's request. :)

Hey, if you were a female and had small boobs and big nipples and then went jogging, they'd chafe real bad. You might not have to wear a bra, but you'd have to wear Band-Aids. LOL.

message 38: by Ed

Ed Wagemann I was wondering about your comment that you dont like to read things that will disturb or haunt you. You mean like horror stories or true crime books about serial killer and things like that?
I'm kinda the same way when it comes to the news. I can't listen to news about kids getting hurt and stuff like that. I just have to shut down when that crap comes on. Part of me is disappointed in myself, because these things are part of reality and to turn a blind eye on reality can lead to ignorance. On the otherhand I know these things exist - I'm not turning a blind eye to them, I'm simply choosing to fill my reality with positive stories and thoughts, etc. I've been criticized for this, but I honestly don't care. THere's really not much purpose for dwelling on negative crap

Saying that "corporations are people" just seems like something an evil character in bad action movie would say. It seems weird that Romney would believe this, much les say it...

Lillie Roberts Hi Ed, thanks for the friendship. I checked out your blog. Your Romney commentary was very interesting, lol. I have to say, I'm an extreme fiction reader with a sprinkling of non-fiction, and I read way more than I review. I think the reason for my love of fiction is it's ability to dream the unimaginable. Looking forward to your reviews.
