Snapshot Moments

“It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The countdown has begun. In a little more than a month my debut Harlequin Mills & Boon romance, "The Indian Tycoon's Marriage Deal", will be released! Of course I'm super excited! It's like finally arriving at your destination after a long journey. Exhausted but exhilarated.

And what a journey it has been.

Every creative venture is a journey in itself. Some of them are hard, others easy but each one is unique and has its own snapshot moments. As I count down to the release of my first novel I revisit some of those milestones... just as you would while looking at the pictures in a photo album of one of your favourite trips. Read more...

Developing the Story

Countdown to Book Release (#2)

As the Krish-Maya love story developed my jittery nerves did an anxious dance.
The love story had to be balanced with Maya’s quest for revenge. After all, she wasn’t looking for love. And especially not with the son of her Enemy No. 1.

There was plenty of potential conflict in that premise and it had to be mined just right. If it was heavily skewed towards the revenge plotline the book wouldn’t qualify to be a romance. So there had to enough power in the inner conflict as a result of their attraction for each other.

That was enough to freeze me up. The more I went into analysis mode, the tougher it became to type up the words.

I needed to switch off my analyst self and look at the whole thing from a new angle.

That’s when Snapshot Moment #2 happened. Read more here

Saturday Snippet: Trouble Has a New Name

Trouble Has A New Name by Adite Banerjie Trouble Has A New NameIt's time to share a juicy tidbit from my new book #TroubleHasANewName. This one is about my heroine Rayna Dutt, who has a tendency to get into scrapes... for no fault of hers! Read on..and do share your thoughts or leave behind a comment

Footwear gaffe equals a disastrous day ahead!

Not only would she arrive late for a flight transporting some of the Who's Who of the city to the grandest wedding of the decade, but she was also set to make a cringe-worthy entrance. She hoped there would be no press photographers around to shoot hotshot model Rayna Dutt boarding a chartered flight to the Andaman Islands in pink teddy-bear-topped flip-flops. Maybe she should just hop off, hail a cab, go home and fall unconscious with the help of some more tequila shots?

Excerpts from Trouble Has A New Name

Rayna Dutt, an upcoming model, is dumped by her boyfriend. She is Impulsive, Feisty and attracts trouble at every moment. She is very much a girl next door but likes to live life her own way.She has her own set of self-designed laws which she fondly calls “Rayna’s Book of Immutable Laws” (RBIL).

According to the RBIL: Anything that could go wrong usually did!

What’s more interesting are the laws themselves and how they they keep proving true in her life… Here's how one of these laws play out in her life :)

RBIL #1 : Footwear gaffe equals a disastrous day ahead.

“The Mercedes soundlessly swept out of the drive way and raced down the road skirting the seafront on its way to the airport. Rayna looked out anxiously, praying they would not get stuck in a traffic jam. Thankfully,
being a Sunday morning, the streets were devoid of the usual week day bumper-to-bumper traffic. If all went well—fingers firmly crossed—they should cover the distance to the airport in twelve minutes, tops. She glanced at her wrist and realized she’d forgotten to strap on her watch.Shoot! Her eyes strayed to her feet and she froze in hor
ror.Holy crap! She was still wearing her flip-flops with the cute fluffy pink teddy bears on them”
