The Goodreads readers have begun posting first reviews of "The Winter Palace," my newest novel which chronicles Catherine the Great's rise to power.

The novel will be published in January 2012 in Canada and the U.S. For now only early advance copies are available.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to review "The Winter Palace." I am thrilled to get the first sense of what in the novel pleases the readers and hoping that the reviews will keep coming.

Empress was published in March, and I am still promoting it both in Canada and the US, meeting with readers and talking about the novel and Catherine the Great.

Next week (May 14 and 15) I will have two readings in Seattle. If you live close by, or have friends there please spread the word and come!
