Delhi has the worst air pollution in the world: WHO
Delhi is the most polluted city in the world when it comes to air quality, according to a WHO study released today.
The 2014 version of the Ambient Air Pollution (AAP) database contains results of outdoor air pollution monitoring from almost 1600 cities in 91 countries.
The national capital has the highest concentration of PM2.5 — particulate matters less than 2.5 microns— form of air pollution, which is considered most serious.
This form of concentration consists of tiny particles that put people at additional risk of respiratory diseases and other health problems, the World Health Organization said.
The situation is so bad in Delhi that its air has PM2.5 concentrations of 153 micrograms and PM10 concentrations of 286 micrograms — much more than the permissible limits.
In comparison, Beijing, which was once considered one of the most polluted cities, has PM2.5 concentration of 56 micrograms and PM10 concentration of 121 micro grammes.
Air quality is represented by annual mean concentration of fine particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5, particles smaller than 10 or 2.5 microns).
The database covers the period from 2008 to 2013, with the majority of values for the years 2011 and 2012.
Reacting to the report, Anumita Roychowdhury of the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) said the new WHO data base only confirms the health concerns in India.
"According to global burden of disease estimates, air pollution is the fifth largest killer in India. Tiny particles (PM10 and PM2.5) go deep inside our lungs and trigger respiratory and cardiac problems as well as lung cancer," she told PTI.
WHO said that in most cities where there is enough data to compare the situation today with previous years, air pollution is getting worse.
"Many factors contribute to this increase, including reliance on fossil fuels such as coal fired power plants, dependence on private transport motor vehicles, inefficient use of energy in buildings, and the use of biomass for cooking and heating," it said.

Reading Comprehension - A Question Mark on assessing our Critical Reading capabilities in CAT ?
Certainly, you have reading comprehension passages on the CAT,CLAT,GMAT etc. But beyond that point, is it really possible to measure reading comprehension through multiple-choice tests?
There are multiple motivations for why an author may make argument X, and multiple interpretations of his exact argument, which may be affected by the immediate circumstances that made him write that argument at that particular point in time (and while we may know a bit about the society that he lived in, chances are that we'll probably never know who he intended the book to be written for - hell - some people probably intended to write a book to impress some potential lover [and hell, maybe some passages in the book are motivated to attract the sympathy of that lover] even though they pretended to write it for the greater good of society).
Look at courtrooms. There, people pretty much argue about what people (in a case with precedent) actually meant, and there's usually no concrete (and correct) answer. And people who study the life of a particular philosopher may have multiple interpretations of why philosopher X wrote passage Y, and what X really meant in writing passage Y.
I have myself written a lot of stuff including a bestseller book and I am sometimes not sure about certain things in my own book about the context of that content or what was my real intention.
Plus, it's oftentimes very interesting to read the writing of someone you know REALLY well because you know their life so well that you can dream up hypotheses of what prompted them to write passage X at time Y (and you also know his social network so you could imagine what audience he had in mind, and what audience he might have secretly hoped to impress without mentioning it). And perhaps because of this, reading comprehension is not a skill with a single scale, since people are better at understanding some people than they are at understanding others.
I mean, I guess the ultimate test of reading comprehension would be to test someone on one of Immanuel Kant's books, or on some recent postmodernist book (made artificially difficult to read/parse), and then ask him "well, what is Kant trying to get at"? But is that really a valid test? Or maybe one where you have to dissect the entire structure of a book where X is pretending to be Y pretending to be Y pretending to be X (of course, such books are rarely written, but theoretically possible).
Alternatively, wouldn't someone with exceptional reading comprehension be better at reading crappy writing? (because they're probably more able to process multiple thought-streams at once - which includes possible fragmentary/jumbled ideas?) A common assumption in reading comprehension tests is that the writing is "perfect", but this is frequently not the case, and people (especially older people) can get attention lapses when writing

What Your Customers Say About You Matters Let’s face it. We live in a world full of advertisements and we just don’t trust what brands say about themselves.
However, we do trust what our friends say.
That is why so many people are willing to try something new based on what their friends say on social media.
Some call this word-of-mouth, some call it peer-to-peer recommendations. No matter what you call it, getting people to recommend you can go a long way to driving both new and repeat business.

Beginner Tips Social Media Marketing
These are some of the mistakes,New marketeers are regularly indulged into:-
1. Being self-absorbed: Remember, social media is like a social gathering – no one wants to spend time with the bore who only talks about themselves or things that matter to them. Find ways to help others, answer their questions, comment on or share their posts.
2. Talk too much: Again, no one likes a conversation hog. Sharing 25 internet memes goes very quickly from funny to irritating. Be selective. Think about what you would like to see show up in your social feed. Share accordingly.
3. Wildly erratic presence: Not being on your network for days and then sharing 15 updates in an hour is no way to connect with people. Space out your contributions and if you need to look into using tools such as Tweetdeck, Hootsuite and Buffer that can help with content scheduling.
4. Not reciprocating: You should always follow back anyone who is relevant to your goals in social media, thank people who share your content and, most importantly, reply to anyone who talks to or mentions you.
5. Being impatient: Don’t get anxious about the size of your network. A quality network takes time to grow and eventually it will grow exponentially. The person who is desperate for friends or followers is somewhat unattractive on social media.
So, are you ready to dip your toes into social media? Do you know someone who needs a nudge to get started?

Lets Create Art and Change the World

For Art is Life and Life is Art,
Lets sing the Songs and Dance like the swarm,
Oh Artiste!! Neva fall for this Charm
Lets Paint the Beauty ,Time cannot harm,
Try not be Popular,Lets Beautify,
Lets create pieces, The world must aurify..
Listen Oh! Mozarts, The dancers and the painters, Listen Oh! Masons, The writers and the Poets, Destroy the unworthy,For that creates Art, Create the future,For that creates Art, Imitate Life ,For Life is Divine Art,
Lets change the world by painting from hearts...
Lets change the world by writing from hearts...Lets change the world by singing from hearts...Lets change the world by dancing from hearts... Lets change the world by Believing in our hearts...

The Sad Singing Nightingale

Remember the days,The old ones and newThe moments we spent me loving youRemember our Love and our fairytale,Where You were my song and I was your nightingale.
We won some battles and wars we Lost,With you as the sacred Cross,I became a provost, and now when you are gone,I die and I liveWith each passing day, Myself I forgive
For eternal will be in hells and in heavens,Will be Our Telltale,Will be our TelltaleAmuse me my song for I am your Nightingale.
Humanity-No Caste , No caste is HumanityFor Vanity is religion and religion is Vanity,How can you forget,Our moments spent in heaven,For our time was limited, was DaVinci's Seven,Alone I utter, I enchant our Songs,Fighting every moment,Correcting my wrongs
Oh! My prince! I await you,To come on a Clydesdale,Together this Harsh World,We both will impale,And we organise,We sing and We dance,In the largest ever Musicale,
Just Never Forget , The realms we shared,The valleys we jumped, The beauty we stared,For I am a crying girl, and I cry in this gale,
My sweetheart,My prince..I was your Nightingale,I am your Nightingale ~ Vardhane Harsh

Death is beautiful
The Most beautiful people we ever knew are the dead ones
Two teenaged girls entered the almost empty bus and sat in the seat in front of an Old man. The old man turned his face away towards the window trying not to confront their eyes to keep his mind engaged in his own thoughts.
But Sea breeze doesn't distinguishes between old men with drooping eyes and young girls with twinkling eyes. The breeze rustled everyone's hair and made them children again. Be it the smile you see on their young small lips or their notorious acts, Human is born with an affection for these cute little creatures or the phase through which he himself passed through. A man can always learn to be happy without reason,Or keeping himself busy or to demand the thing which he desires from his full might from these sweet little God gifts.
One of the girls held a book in her soft pointed hands. "Black cover with cherry blossoms falling from the edges". He recognized the book immediately and smiled, a laugh at the stupidity of his youth.
The girl who held the book said to the other girl " You know, it is a classic. Even after so many years it has this breezy feeling. Such a beautiful love story. No one knows where the writer is. I am sure he holds his wife's hands and sits on a garden bench now like the old couple in movies".
The old man just went through a sharp impulse of correcting her.He just managed to stop himself and smiled again looking out of the window But Beneath his smile ,His soul was shouting to them.He wanted to say " His soul-mate died while giving birth to their stillborn daughter. To keep her alive and forever with him,He ended the book like a fairy tale. He wanted to live happily ever after with her. He wanted his beautiful wife to live in a million beautiful minds". Today he sees his Dream being fulfilled,He sees his beautiful wife being alive through his book in Millions of readers including the two girls sitting in front of her. "Hoof!!" He takes a deep sigh , Looks at the girls and passes them a smile. The girls showing generosity and respect passed back the smile.
He took a piece of paper and wrote something. Gave it to the two young girls and left.
The girl holding the book unfolds the paper and reads it.Her radiant expression suddenly turned into an expression of shock .
The girl kept staring at the man as he walked away from the bus stop.
On the paper was written , " For the first time he knew why poets called death beautiful when he saw her face in the coffin " and it was signed by the author of the black book.
