FREE ANTHOLOGY

Tales of the Valkyries An Anthology of Shorts Stories (Viking Romance & Viking Paranormal Romance) by Gina Conkle

Six Viking short stories that transcend time...

Available September 15, FREE at Kobo, Barnes & Noble, and soon to be free at Amazon (You can help that happen by reporting the lower price!)

Here's a bit about my story...

The Viking's Immortal Princess

When his father vanished years ago with his crew, young Varinn heard dark rumors of what befell the men. Now Varinn has grown to manhood and has vowed to learn the truth. But before he can sail, an odd-eyed fox leads him to a strange hall.

Halla has loved Varinn for years, but her people have hidden from his since before time itself. Now he's right here before her. Will her powerful father drive him away, or can her magic lead them past law and custom and Varinn's own vows to forge a path to happiness?

Set in the years before the Immortal Brotherhood series, The Viking's Immortal Princess tells what came before...and hints at what is yet to come.

She's Ba-a-ack (with update on Immortal Defender!)

I kind of fell off the face of the earth, and not just here. Everywhere.

BUT...

I'm back among the land of living writers. I finished IMMORTAL DEFENDER.

And it's going to be out from Berkley on October 18, 2016. All the appropriate sites, including this one will be updated to reflect the correct date soon.

Now's your chance to re-read the first three book so you're ready for Torvald.

January 5, 2011

Busy week!

Immortal Champion officially went on sale yesterday, which makes life around here hectic enough. But to add to the stress, I'm heading out on book tour tomorrow. I'll be starting in San Diego with a signing at the Oceanside B&N on Friday evening and several others over the weekend, then heading north with Delilah Marvelle for both scheduled signings and impromptu stops to sign stock.

If you live anywhere along the I-5 corridor between San Diego and Portland, we'd love to meet you, either at a signing, one of the informal chats we're doing, or even at the more impromptu stops, which we will announce via Twitter as we go.

You can get the full skinny on the tour and links to our Twitter accounts on my website's Meet Lisa page.

Inspiration

I'm working on Immortal Defender, set in Elizabethan England, and in the process of doing research, I ran into a video with a taste of the language of the time. Pop on over to my blog to hear a bit of As You Like It done with "correct" (Shakespearean) pronunciation:

Countdown to Immortal Champion

Wow, where has the year gone?

It's October already, and just three months until IMMORTAL CHAMPION hits the shelves. This is Gunnar's story, and I have to say, he's my favorite of the Brotherhood so far—although Torvald just might take his place (I'm working on his story right now)

I just put an excerpt of Immortal Champion up, there are contests and fun things in the works. So zip on over to my website and check out what's going on.

And be sure to join me on Twitter and Facebook so we can hang out together.

Post-Christmas Post

Mid-winter is the perfect time to write. The dark and cold (and around here, the rain) make me want to stay inside and tap away at my laptop, a cup of something hot within reach.

I have a great excuse to really dig in this year. In early October, I sold the next two books in the Immortal Brotherhood series, with books due to my editor in February and October. Unfortunately, right after that, I got H1N1 that went to bronchitis and spent 6 weeks recovering enough to get a brain back. Now I'm playing catch up, so don't expect to see me here on Goodreads until Groundhog Day, when I'll try to poke my head up for at least a few minutes.

Take care of yourself, and keep reading!

Third times a charm?

Okay, I've tried posting to my GR blog twice, and the posts have disappeared. So this is the short, to the point version because I'm running out of both time and energy.

I'm part of a big, group booksigning tomorrow (Sept 18). Details are in events, below.

Here are some of the books we'll be signing

Scribbling, scribbling...

Or at least I would be, if I wasn't spending so much time in the car. I just got back from taking Child1 to college, nine hours each way. (Can you say tired butt?) And tomorrow I'm making a lickety-split trip to Portland for a group signing with a dozen of my favorite romance-writing buddies, fellow members of the Rose City Romance Writers.

Full deets are below in the events section, but here are snazzy covershots of some of the books we'll be signing. I definitely think you should come if you're in the Portland/Vancouver area. It's romance, after all. And it's Powell's Books!

Scribbling away

At least I'm trying. But there are all these things I have to do, like pack up Child1 and haul him nine hours (nine! each way!) to college. And schlepp to Portland to participate in big autograph party with all the ladies of the Rose City Romance Authors (Portland chapter of Romance Writers of America).

Not that either of those things are bad. They just keep me away from the keyboard, which means away from writing. However I do think well in a car; my head is always spinning with ideas by the end of a road trip. So maybe it will all pay off in the end.

Actually, the kid to college thing is already done. And the schlepp to Portland is tomorrow (check out the events section below for deets, especially if you're in the Portland/Vancouver area. I'll be signing both Immortal Outlaw and Immortal Warrior, but lots and lots of terrific romance authors will be there, so you'll have much deliciousness from which to choose -- although the Powell's folks tell me we'll be sitting in a huge circle. That means you can just go all the way around and pick up one of everything. Right?

Here are some of the books you'll find us signing:
