Janardan Maity and Prakash Ray are back with a fascinating new mystery adventure.

A small announcement. But first, a little background. As some of you may know, I have a mystery series with two characters I created, Janardan Maity and Prakash Ray. This series, to which you have given so much love, has four novels, with a fifth one that I have written but not yet published. The first four novels are titled - Penumbra, Here Falls the Shadow, The Disappearance of Sally Sequeira, and Best Served Cold. The fifth one, soon to be published, is titled Aperture. The first four books in the series have been published by different publishers, and I am immensely grateful to them. However, it has been a long-standing dream of mine to bring all the books in the Janardan Maity series under one publisher, so that readers can have a wonderful reading experience, and possibly a box-set or an omnibus in the future.

I am now happy to announce that Penguin Random House has acquired all the five books in the series and will soon be publishing the series in a new look. For those of you who have waited so patiently for the new Janardan Maity novel, I request you to wait a little longer, because as you can imagine, the scale of this new endeavour is quite massive, and there are a number of things and moving parts to take care of. My current editor is an absolute gem of a person, a pleasure to work with, and my deepest, most heartfelt gratitude to my former editors as well. The books may be moving to a new house, but they would not have been possible without you guys. I haven't forgotten that, and never will.

To my readers, please give me a little more time to bring the books to you. I want you to know that I read your reviews very carefully, and I try to understand what you are looking for in a mystery novel. I assure you that 'Aperture' - the upcoming Janardan Maity novel - is THE most intriguing puzzle that I have ever created, and that the wait, though long, will be worth it.

'Aperture' is the story about a struggling cameraman who is forced by circumstances into the dangerous cycle of voyeurism and blackmail. On witnessing the murder of a woman by her husband, this cameraman visits Janardan Maity and confesses to his crimes, just so the killer can be brought to book. Maity investigates, only to find the puzzle to be far more complex and baffling than he had imagined.
