Scare Season... razor blades in the candy...
My sci-fi/horror based on technological ghosts and how they'll become common horrors, both destroying the concept of privacy as well as being able to affect the physical world, is about to see the release of book two.
I intertwined a few nasty, real-life monsters into my envisioned future and what came of it were not good for the main characters 'Eclipse.'
In the sequel, I enjoyed delving into human nature and wicked motivations behind serial killers and the things they say...
...terrorism and the what-ifs changed
evil echoing (ala Fortean Loren Coleman's TWILIGHT LANGUAGE)...
...and more.
My publisher called it 'the empire strikes back of the ghosts-world.' That's cool.
Related thought: This month, I wrote my final column for The Horror Within Magazine. In a fitting twist, I reviewed the dark TV drama RIVER. Dr. Cream (a delusion often seen by the main character) is the type of wicked creature explored in the pages of Ghosts of the Golden Triangle-- asking what if Jack the Ripper had the technology we as a race will have in the near future. Sorry for the nightmares and the lurking vileness which motivates people to put razor blades in the candy. Urban myth? Horror? Happy Halloween.
Yours truly,
Mordy

Nightmares... Dealey Square... Heroes
It's Monday and I am trying to get on the whole "Monday is for bloggers" parade.
Q:Nightmares, Mord?
A:What is a classic theme that needs a "new" look from Mord McGhee and his "so realistic it's menacing" visions?
Nightmares. You said it first.
Q:Dallas?
A:Dealey Square is a place that one can pass on the Texas Eagle Amtrak train that runs from Chicago, IL to at least Austin, TX. It goes further... though I've never done so. It is finding page time in my latest novel. Look for it possibly later this year or early next year, perhaps.
Q:Why is Dallas, Texas important to your books?
A:It is what it is.
Astute readers will have noted the connections.
Q:Heroes? Man, you have some weird blog titles, Mord. What's next, peanut butter chili?
A:No, I saw PB chili on America's Worst Cooks and that's where it can stay! As for my blog titles... heroes come from the strangest places. We all have it inside us... but it takes the magic of courage, circumstances, and timing to produce a Hero.

Grassroots, Amtrak Trains, and 1880s Victorian England?
What the heck is all this? YES they all have something in common. I am looking for a grassroots group of readers and fans to help support my book, just released on the Ides of March. There are free samples from Amazon.... Amtrak? I just finished a chapter set in the Texas Eagle, an Amtrak train that I have been on often and love dearly. 1880s England?
A portion of my new project, which now has a working title I am happy with, is set in Victorian England.
SciFi in Victorian England Mord? Is this one of those Dr. Who time travel things..... they are so overdone according to publishers and critics everywhere.
Actually.... NO.
It has nothing to do with time travel at all and nothing to do with Dr. Who except that my angelfish has been named "Amy" in honor of a Who character.
I don't watch the show... my teenagers do. They named her. But Amy is my writing angel!

Working title of new book has morphed...
Every once in a while I see something advertised with the same name I'd been working around for a new project.
While that didn't exactly happen today... I did see another title already using my idea...
Plan B happens for a reason... It'll hit me.
Then it'll hit you.
New book fact: Based in part by true events and a true story
