Sarah Greyson: Missing in Action

I wanted to apologize to all of you for being gone for a few months.  Unfortuantely, those months weren’t spent writing.  Instead, I have been dealing with some very serious problems with my teenager.  I am sure those of you that have raised children or are in the teen years now can relate.  My oldest son got mixed up with the wrong crowd and started down the wrong path.  It took all of me to get him back on the right path.

Now that he is on the right path again, I can devote my spare time to writing.  My third book in The Unit series is scheduled for release in March 2017.  I know you’ll love it.

As an Indie author, money is always a factor.  I’m not sure if you know this or not but it costs about one thousand dollars to publish your own book, if you do it right.  I only want to do it right.  That means hiring an editor, a proofreader, and a formatter.  I am aware that some authors skip these steps, but I want you to have the best of me.  And having the best of me means having a book that is well written and edited.  The first time I write a story, I’m really writing it for me.  The edits are for all of you.  It is true that Harder (The Unit 3) took me a long time to write.  I’m not sure why, but the title was certainly appopriate.  But I assure you that I have had it read by seven betas.  They all loved it and in loving it suggested changes that would only make it better.  Therefore, I have rewritten it.  Now it goes to editing in Febuary.  In the meantime, I am working on my fourth book titled Something of the Forest.  I already have the cover, now I just need to finish it.  It will be a standalone novel.  It is dark and twisted and not for the faint of heart.  But this is the story that I need to write now.

I hope you can forgive my absence from the book world.  And more than that, I hope you welcome be back with open arms.

Love,

Sarah

Sarah Greyson’s To-Do List

Sarah Greyson is Attending SASS16

Hi all![image error]

I wanted to let everyone know that I will be attending the SASS16 signing in Norfolk, Virginia on July 9, 2016.  I really hope you can make it to see me.  I love meeting readers and fans of my work.  It is such an amazing feeling to talk with someone about my work.  I know a great number of authors write for themselves.  And, truth be told, I am also one of them.  But I also write for you. I want you to love what I write.  It’s not that I want to be famous, far from it.  I just want to create a work that leaves you breathless.  I want to create a work where you are ready to throw the book across the room because I have evoked deep emotions within you.  I want you hot and bothered over my sex scenes.  I want you to enjoy your escape into the world I have created for you.

So you see, I write more for you than for me.  I fully understand that not everyone will like my work.  I also understand that I will never become rich from my writing.  But having a number of fans, people who follow me and really can’t wait for my next book to come out, means everything to me.  I think I write more for you than for me.  Of course, I have stories to tell and in that sense, I write for me.  But everything else: the rewrites, the editing, the rewrites – are for you. I want you to read a well-written story that you just have to tell your friends about.

Some have read my work and felt compelled to leave negative reviews.  Honestly, the first one hurt – bad.  But I have developed a thick skin and am willing to learn from you.  I love reviews that are filled with constructive critism.  When you just bash an author’s book without a reason, well, those I don’t pay attention to.  But when you bash an author’s book with reasons and examples, that’s something I can learn from.

I love writing.  I do not like the rewriting so much, but it is par for the course.  I love meeting readers and fans!  I also love meeting other authors.  I get such a thrill from talking to you.  So please, if you aren’t busy the weekend of July 8th, please come and visit me at the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside, Virginia.  The signing is on July 9th and you can buy your tickets here:  http://www.eventbrite.com/e/sass16-star-studded-affair-norfolk-va-tickets-18030345248?aff=es2

I hope to see you there!

Sarah

Sarah Greyson’s Learning Curve

Hello all!

I am still learning how to use WordPress.  It is highly complex and complicated for me.  I have to Google just about everything I want to do other than make a post.  Making a post is easy.  I can’t imagine building a website through WordPress.  I have all of these add-ons that I have no idea about.  I used to be able to post my blog posts to my soical media sites; now that option is gone.  I would really like to get that option back.  Let me Google it.  BRB.  Okay, so I found the instructions but the option on my WordPress is not there.  What is there I did, so let’s see if this post actually posts to Facebook.  Wish me luck!

Sarah

Sarah Greyson’s Shyness

Someone said that I should start posting more about me.  That my readers want to get to know me.  Well, readers, the first thing you should know is that I am shy.  It’s true. When I go to a book signing, I can always talk with the readers, but it is very hard for me […]
