Jonathan Harnisch, a versatile artist, author, and film director, delves into eroticism, cinematic storytelling, and deep literary themes, offering entertainment and a thought-provoking examination of the human experience. His work provocatively blurs the conventional demarcations between the rational and the irrational, the tangible and the fantastical, inviting the audience to reconsider the foundation of perception and reality. Harnisch’s artistry is a monumental testament to a life characterized by an unyielding pursuit of knowledge and an unequivocal rejection of the mundane verdicts of societal convention. Each creation, whether manifested through the tactile medium of paint, the rhythmic cadence of prose, or the visual mosaic of film ...more

After all, he has needed to avoid jail time by participating in court mandated therapy. He adapts well to therapy rather straight away, and feels urged to confess “what makes him act the way he does,” and with an obligation to reveal to his wife, Kelly, all that he has kept inside, for far too long, thus, the semi-autobiographical aspect, an autobiography of his mind and in a way my own. Thank you for your question. I hope you enjoy the book.(less)

A Beautiful Hell: Notes from the Bardo

Somewhere in the distance—though not so far from where I sit—there’s a place I used to imagine as a boy. A place where silence wasn’t emptiness but possibility. Where stillness wasn’t punishment but permission. I live there now. Or maybe I live somewhere else entirely, but this is as close as I’ve ever come to getting there. Removed from all that can be removed, with Georgie. It’s just the two of Read more of this blog post »

“The strongest people are not those who show strength in front of the world but those who fight and win battles that others do not know anything about.”
Jonathan Harnisch, The Brutal Truth

“I’ve always loved the night, when everyone else is asleep and the world is all mine. It’s quiet and dark—the perfect time for creativity.”
Jonathan Harnisch, Porcelain Utopia

“I’m history’s last fucking joke—burned out in a senior center doing Namaste Yoga while God shows up in a saltine cracker, calls me a coward, and offers me a cigarette. That’s it. That’s the punchline. So fuck your hope, and fuck your healing. I’m already holy. I’m already gone.”
Jonathan Harnisch, Glad You're Not Me

“The world surrounding me possesses an undeniable beauty, yet it has fundamentally shattered every aspect of my being.”
Jonathan Harnisch, Sex, Drugs, and Schizophrenia

“Even in the darkest abyss of despair, when it feels as though hope has perished, remember this—the pages of life are never finished. Every storm you endure, every shadow you meet, holds within it the seeds of transformation. There is strength in vulnerability and courage in admitting defeat, for it is in these moments that the possibility of renewal is born. You are not alone, and this is not the end.”
Jonathan Harnisch, Sex, Drugs, and Schizophrenia

“I embrace my demise, harboring both disdain and adoration for existence. I yearn to endure torment and fade into oblivion, a state of perfection that I find appealing.”
Jonathan Harnisch

“Though time and distance have chiseled us into strangers, and the architecture of our hearts has been burdened by contracts, pride, and the silent weight of unspoken truths, I stand here not as the son I once was but as a man now forged by love and loss. Father, in the shadow of all our misunderstandings, I have carried you—your lessons, your struggles, your very essence—like cracks in stained glass that do not mar, but illuminate. Today, I say what was left unsaid in the echoing chambers of our shared, fractured world: I love you. And in saying so, I know that even broken trust cannot silence the eternal note of redemption that binds us, for in being your son, I have learned how to find the strength to become myself. And yet, it is because of you that I stand whole.”

Jonathan Harnisch Thank you, Louise! It was a pleasure to connect with you on Goodreads, where all this is still new to me. It would be great if you could write an unbiased review once you get through my book. It’s wonderful receiving onslaughts of comments and messages through letters, social network platforms, and the book’s blog regarding the book’s originality, brilliance (sigh), and the presence of so many different genres in one work. I’ll have to look into your material as well. It sounds ideal to find a commonality. Marketing and promotions along with my other artistic works can be quite daunting at times, but I’m learning a great deal. Thanks again!

This is all truly exciting and an overall delight. I’ve been giving away several paperbacks in exchange for unbiased reviews. I believe the paperback weighs in at around three pounds! You may download my book on Kindle MatchBook for quite a lighter weight and a lower price. And from there my scattered thoughts trail off….. To reference Alibiography, “Where is Georgie when I need him?…Calling Dr. C.” By the way, the sequel, Second Alibi, may be out this year—so many great things.

You’ve written the first message to me on Goodreads, and for that I am immensely grateful. I try to connect with everyone I can. Rock on and keep in touch! By the way, are you on Twitter? There I go writing too long, too much. Oh, what joy!

Have a wonderful day.

Louise Hart Hi Jonathan, It's a pleasure to connect with you. I am definitely going to read your work. I think my perspective is similar to your own.
