A couple that helped inspire me over the years would be Stephen King and Christopher Pike. I would say my favorite books of theirs would be Insomnia and the Dark Tower series by King, and The Last Vampire/Thirst series by Pike. I hope that answers your question.(less)

Thanks for the question, Monika!

I started writing little stories when I was young, around 8 years old or so. The idea for the first book of the War of Destiny series actually came about by accident, a by product of X-Files fanfiction back in high school. My secondary characters had their own stories to tell and left Mulder and Scully in the dust!(less)

Now on Kobo

I made the big decision to move off of exclusivity on Amazon and start offering book 1 of The War of Destiny series on Kobo as well. It is my understanding that it is more popular in other countries such as Canada and Australia among others. I've also heard that some US readers are moving away from Amazon as well.

I am planning to start offering book 2: Pursuit into Darkness on Kobo as well, hopefu Read more of this blog post »

“Mortals treat women the way they do because that’s what they have done for hundreds, maybe thousands of years. No one has ever really tried to change it … or even question it.”
Theresa Van Spankeren, Lost Soul

“Here is the place that separates life and death, sanity and madness, that is between darkness and light. Your soul has been traumatized and needs rest. This is the best place for that.” - The Woman in White”
Theresa Van Spankeren, Between Darkness & Light

“Aren’t you afraid?" I asked them telepathically.
"Terrified," Christy confessed. When I stared, I could see a fine tremor go through her. "However, that does not change anything."
"This is not the first time we have encountered Valentino. We have tried to fight him twice before, and once he tried to chase us through Southern France. Our group has gotten pretty good at evasion,"Matthew added.
"You mean running and hiding?"
"I prefer to call it a tactical retreat.”
Theresa Van Spankeren, Pursuit into Darkness

“We have now left Reason and Sanity Junction. Next stop, Looneyville.”
Jim Butcher, Grave Peril

“Sometimes, Hoss,” he said very gently, “you lose. Sometimes the darkness takes everyone. Sometimes the monster escapes to kill again another day.” He shook his head and looked down. “Sometimes, Hoss, the innocent little ones are murdered. And there’s not one goddamned thing you can do about it.”
Jim Butcher, Changes

“A thousand curses on you and those who spawned you! You've plagued me long enough, you stygian fiend! I don't know what sulfurous pit you've crawled out of, but I mean to return you to it! I'll send you on a voyage down the river Styx if it's the last thing I do!" Twain directed his attention back to the phone. "No, I wasn't talking to you, but most of what I said still applies.”
Arthur Daigle, William Bradshaw and Fool's Gold

“It's said on my world that the only thing evil needs to succeed is for good men to do nothing." - Will Bradshaw”
Arthur Daigle, William Bradshaw and Fool's Gold

“Fucksocks! It’s Chet the huge shaved vampyre cat, down on the street. He looks bigger, and I think he ate a meter maid. Her little cart is running and there’s an empty uniform on the curb.

Bad kitty!”
Christopher Moore, Bite Me
