Robin was born in Athens, not long before the 1981 earthquake. As a boy he lived in Chennai (India) and Hampshire (UK) before moving to Mauritius at the age of nine, the paradise island to which he still returns every year. He has since lived in New Zealand & France, and is now settled in Crouch End, London, with his wife, Kate.
Like many of us, he is intrigued to see how the world will change over the coming years with the evolution of artificial intelligence and virtual reality, and as a fan of fantasy RPGs such as Skyrim and The Witcher 3, he has combined his interests to inform his story.
“Extropia,” explains Robin, “is essentially the convergence of some of my favourite stories: The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and The Hunger Games, w

Great question!
1) You're going to get knocked down a thousand times. Just believe that you CAN do this if you keep at it.
2) The bits that you love the most other people often won't notice, and sometimes won't like at all - Don't hold on to your favourite bits of writing. The flow of the story is more important.
3) Get help - there's loads of help out there these days. Some paid, but also lots of authors who can feedback on your work in return for feedback on theirs.
4) Have fun!(less)

Hey Lucy... there's so many important things it's hard to choose one. But let me concisely call out a few:
1) Hard work and the utter determination to see it through. It took me 4 years to write my novel :)
2) Asking for feedback from people who will be hard on your writing. Listen, understand filter, and re-write. And then get more feedback and so on and so on. I rewrote my novel in full 3 times and had about 10 different drafts that I submitted to people for feedback.
3) Planning and plotting extensively makes the whole thing a lot easier. I learnt the hard way!
Hope that helps :)(less)

“And it could take three years more! This technology is far more complex than anything that has come before. Gone are the times of audio and video signals received and interpreted by the brain. This isn’t even virtual reality. This is alternate reality –the implantation of the mind directly into a whole new environment.”
