Irene Davidson was born and raised on the Southland plains in the far south of the South Island New Zealand. All those 'Souths' should give a clue as to just how far south that really is.
Looking around, Irene rapidly came to the conclusion that her native home was a long way from ...anywhere, and unless she wanted to spend all her adventures on Stewart Island (which though quite lovely, was an even longer way from anywhere) she’d better get used to flying.
With this in mind, she jetted off to complete high school in Tennessee, a degree in Palmerston North, work in London, working holidays in France and a couple of years in Australia, all the while gathering material for writing. After post-graduate study and working as a Landscape Architect, ...more
