My review for This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I received an ARC through Edelweiss for a honest review.
This Savage Song is a masterpiece of violence, action, romance and heart stopping intrigue. In a city called Verity, due to events which happened during the "Phenomenon" all forms of violence began to take shape creating Sunai's, Corsai's and Malachi's. The Corsai feed on flesh, The Malachi feed on blood and The Sunai steal souls with their deadly song. Verity is divided into two sections, The North City which is lead by Callum Harker and The South City by Henry Flynn. The protagonists of the book are Kate Harker the daughter of Callum and August Flynn the adopted Sunai son of Henry Flynn. One of the things that made me obsessed with this book is the moments between Kate and August, it entrances you and you find yourself wanting more. August being sent to Colton Academy to watch Kate created an avenue for the two protagonists to interact. Kate has two sides, the violent side that wants to prove to her father that she deserves to be his daughter and the soft side that just wants to be a normal girl. August defies every single definition of monster, he is not what you would expect a monster to be like, In fact, he is far from it. Compassionate, thoughtful and so cute, He has all the qualities of a great guy (He is at the top of the list of my Book Boyfriends). August and Kate are really enjoyable characters, This Savage Song is going to be a hit among Young Adult Readers because it has every quality most YA readers look for. The action alone makes it a must read, the romance just makes it even better. Be prepared for a massive ending that will leave you shocked and screaming your head off. V. E. Schwab is a master in writing.
