The Struggle Between Showing and Telling

Readers are not horses that need to be led to water. They already want to drink from your stream, or they would be in someone else's book. Show them the way to water, and they will quench their thirst without being told how or why.

Matthew Williams Well put! One of my favorite directors has always been Stanley Kubrick because of his intense visual style. He never told people what was going on, he showed them. I wish we had more people who followed that philosophy in both the cinematic and literary realm.
