Opportunity Knocks But Once!

An Indie author, I seize every opportune moment to market my new release in the genre of Contemporary Women’s Fiction. One of this week’s highlights was a full-feature story about my novel and me appearing in the “East Bay Life” section of every East Bay area newspaper in Rhode Island. My one disappointment is that there was no way for me to link the article to social media.

Although I seized other opportunities by proverbially grabbing bulls by their horns, I’ve set these aside so as not to eclipse exciting news with potential to help an Indie Author rise above the ashes of obscurity.

Not the first time I’ve mentioned it this week, I’m blaring my trumpet again, by sharing a notification I received from UNDERGROUND BOOK REVIEWS on October 19th pertaining to my book submission pre-publication:

Congratulations on having AN ENLIGHTENING QUICHE selected as a Pitch Perfect Pick Finalist!

Our judges analyzed your book’s pitch, sample content, and several other factors and found its initial presentation comparable to other quality books in its genre and market. Once qualified, it had to finish in the top five of all our weekly qualifiers. This is an honor not given lightly.

Your book will be promoted as a finalist on our Facebook page by Monday. The following Sunday, we will add up your Likes and shares on Facebook, as well as the votes on our website. The winner will be published to our Magazine the following week, and the synopsis will go out to our 2000+ subscribers and 2000+ social media followers.

The winner will also join the ranks of a select few books that are eligible for entry into our 2017 Novel of the Year competition.

While I am deeply grateful for the nomination, I must try very hard to win because of the potential to boost author recognition and book sales. This is an opportunity I must seize by garnering support of family, friends, and fellow group members in the days to come. The only way I have a shot at winning is through the variable of coordinated support which I intend to orchestrate as effectively as I can without inconveniencing anyone more than absolutely necessary.

As Indie Authors live by the creed, “One for all; all for one,” I want to extend my sincere thanks to those authors who take time to read my Memoirs, essays, blogs, book posts, and daily bio updates on my web page at Authors Den:

I would not have gone very far along my literary journey without the likes, shares, and “being there” at any hour of the day from those in my Facebook groups:

Marketing for Creatives

Opportunity may knock only once, but when it does, you need the cavalry behind you to succeed.
