Can you believe it’s November already? Christmas is right around the corner and already my workload has tripled! Between the end of year activities at my children’s school and the various functions coming up around town I’ve barely found the time to write lately.

Luckily, I finished Cosmic Glitch a couple of weeks ago, so I can afford to take a bit of a breather. Not too long though, Butterfly Kisses, Stonebridge 2, is already niggling away at me and I just know I’ll have to sit behind a keyboard again soon or it will drive me crazy.

Great news! I’ve already had one publisher show an interest in purchasing Cosmic Glitch. I’ve sent off the completed manuscript and now I just have to sit back and wait for an answer. Being this close to the end of the year, I don’t expect I’ll hear back from them until the new year, so I’m trying really hard to be patient. I am feeling pretty hopeful about it all because the publisher already read the first 5 chapters and then requested the rest of the manuscript. I might be completely misreading the entire situation, but that sounds to me like they saw enough potential in the plot and the writing to take the time to read more, and that’s a pretty positive sign (and a bit of an ego boost – it’s always nice to have someone ask for more of your work instead of just shoving it under their noses and hope they want to read it).

Why don’t I self-publish like I did with the Peters Junction Series? Simple really, exposure. Although the Peters Junction books are selling, they’re not performing nearly as well as I’d like and part of the reason is that I just don’t have the time, money, inclination or knowledge on how to market them effectively. I don’t want that for Stonebridge. I am really proud of Cosmic Glitch and the story deserves an audience. The best way to gain that audience is to go through a traditional publisher. A publisher will not only help me polish my final manuscript, but they will also be able to chart a marketing pathway that will hopefully broaden my readership.
