SOLUTION: Problem with Amazon Kindle Version of Interlude

Hello,

I was informed that there was a problem with the Amazon Kindle version of Interlude: First Noel on release day, 12/19/16.

Amazon released a corrupted version of Interlude to all pre-order customers and to some who purchased the book on 12/19/16. My publisher and I were made aware of this and took immediate steps to rectify the situation.

If you have Interlude on your Kindle, please check the Dedication Page. It should say that this book is for you, for all the readers. If you see this, you're golden! You have the correct, uncorrupted file! Happy reading!

If the Dedication Page is blank, you have the corrupted version. Please, stop reading.

Amazon has replaced the corrupted file with the correct file, and all you need to do to get the correct book file is re-sync your Kindle. The correct file will automatically download and replace the corrupted file.

Voila! Check the dedication page, confirm it's the correct version, and you're good to go! Happy Reading!

My deepest apologies to everyone. I am working on figuring out what happened to cause this. I'm mortified, and this is absolutely not the reader experience that I want to bring to everyone.

I am very sorry for this situation. I will do anything that it takes to make sure my readers are taken care of, though.

Please let me know if you have any problems with obtaining the uncorrupted version of Interlude.

Susan Hi Tal,
I am one of the readers who pre-ordered Interlude. I have a Kindle Keyboard 3rd generation. I resynced and the message was: Checking... then No New Items. I have done it 4 times so far with no new copy of the story. Dedication still blank; I can still see the edits in the story. Also, I have a friend with a newer model Kindle and the resync isn't working for him either. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Tal Update!!

Apparently, the sync is not working for everyone. Darn it!!

Some readers have had success calling Amazon customer service. They are able to get the correct file pushed out to them immediately while on the phone.

Amazon has also stated that in the next few days, they will be emailing everyone who pre-orderd and who purchased the corrupted file on 12/19/16 with instructions on how to get a free replacement copy of the ebook.

Kendra Hi Tal,
I have tried re-syncing my Kindle and I have gone into my "digital orders" thinking that they would have the icon for the correct version, but I still have the blank Dedication page.

I would love to get the correct version so that I can add it to my DIK list. I know that I will want to read it again. I am reading Enemy Of My Enemy right now. :)
