Self-publishing advice: My Experience with CreateSpace, KDP, Blurb, LULU, Smashwords, Peecho

description I am an indie author who writes on her free time and benefits of using FREE self-publishing services. If it wasn’t for these platforms, I probably would not be publishing books right now, since I wouldn’t be able to afford paid services and my work would most likely not interest bigger presses.

In my two years self-publishing journey I have tested both print and e-book publishing platforms and now I’d like to share some of my insights with you.

This a looong article, but hope it will be helpful to you: https://tragicbooks.com/2017/01/02/my...

...And Happy New Year! :D

Hi Monique! Glad that it was helpful! :)
I got a comment by "Monique" on the blogpost - was that you? When is your book coming out? What ind of book are you publishing? If you'd like to talk about it, of course :)
By the way, I plan to make another article, just about color/photobooks comparing the different paper/print options.

Yeah - it was me! :) I'm looking at CreateSpace and Kindle Direct.

(And my stuff is of a paranormal/romance nature, with some historical elements. As for the artwork - I plan on drawing color plates for each section of one book, if I decide to come out with a second edition later on. I still have a long way to go, as I'm not done with the first 'regular' editions, or if they will even be well-received. lol
I will definitely be looking forward to your next article about color books in your blog! Keep us posted here)!

Hi Monique :) Ah, so nice that you're preparing a book! :D Please let me know when it is out, I'd love to read it!!! Let's do a spotlight for you when your work is out!
So exciting the thing about the color plates as well. Are you drawing it yourself?

message 10: by Monique (new)

Monique Thanks, Isis! And yes...when I finally get around to it, I'll be drawing them myself. I can't paint worth a shit, but I can draw...lol

@ Monique: awesome that you're drawing to illustrate the book! Makes it all more special! :-D Looking forward to it! hehe
