Sundance!

January 19-23, I went to the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT for the world premiere of "Mudbound." It was a thrilling weekend, to say the least. "Mudbound" was THE buzz film of the entire festival and got rave reviews and Oscar-contender mentions from almost all the critics, including Variety, the LA TimesBuzzfeed, the Daily Beast and The Guardian, which gave it a rare 5 stars. (For the record, while the author didn't like all the changes the filmmakers made to the storyline and characters, she thought it was a beautifully acted, gorgeous, powerful film.)

The good news continued a week later, when the movie sold to Netflix for 12.5 million dollars, making it the top sale of Sundance. Netflix will begin streaming "Mudbound" in the fall, with a concurrent theatrical release. More news when I have it!
