Help me name my new characters
So in a week or so I will return to my old friends Ethan and Michelle and their unexpected pregnancy in their forties. Also I will be starting a book of post-apocalyptic (sort of) love stories. Corn kills most of the population of course! Fast food establishments mix it with the meat for filler. It's in our soft drinks. Salad dressings. We cook everything in vegetable oil. A virtually indestructable microbe invades the corn, and maybe.....85% of the population dies. I need names for my survivor friends who find love. Feel free to suggest your own if you'd like.
Heroine 1: Black woman. Nerdy and sweet. Curvy girl. Teaches microbiology at a high school and also twice a week at community college.
Hero 1: White guy. Former software engineer. Met the h once or twice at academic bowls, but they never really talked. He went to a different high school. Tall, thin, glasses, dimples. Adorably awkward.
Jerk: This fool made all the nerdy kids miserable in high school, and if life was fair he would have peaked there, and had a miserable life from graduation on, but instead he got drafted into the NFL from college, and survived the apocalypse only because he magically has antibodies that neutralize the microbe in the corn.
Heroine 2: Black and Mexican. lab supervisor in hospital, best friend to h1.
Hero 2: Police officer. Albino. Met h2 years ago, they were close friends, but they hadn't seen each other in a while.
Two separate linked stories. Names Please!!

I've always wanted to use the name Julissa in a story! (view spoiler)[I actually used this name in a story I wrote on notebook paper in middle school. It was really terrible, lol. (hide spoiler)]

I like the name. I wonder what alternate spellings there are. Was it a vampire story?
I believe it's a made-up name, a combination of Julie and Lisa, so you can pretty much do whatever you want. :)It was a story about a group of girls on a field trip, and their teacher committed suicide for some reason, and then they run into evil guys from this secret society. I never finished it, lol.
Oh my God! That's the best story ever. :) A random suicide And bad guys? I wish I knew middle school Heather. Lol.

I'm sorry I'm jumping in here, it just seems like a crazy coincidence. Just this morning I decided to "release" the names that my husband and I had "saved" for a potential kid. I mean, ten years and no baby...it's time to let them go. Feel free to use them if you would like :) Mallory Haven, Charlotte Corinne (CeeCee), Eden Elizabeth, Nolan Avery, Canaan Rocker, and Tyson Reid.Oh, and I love killer corn.

I almost named my own daughter Eden, but we settled on Genesis. Mallory Haven is pretty amazing too, and great boy names. I may use Nolan Avery for my software engineer. I think Nolan would make a great software engineer. It's pretty much exactly how I pictured him. And I'd love to read it when you are done! That'd be awesome.

Whoa, Gisele! the synopsis here is awesome! What's scary is the fact that something like this could actually happen. Killer corn...lolAs for names...As your characters appear to be normal folks, I'll be going with normal names (that I like):

Sofia (heroine 2)?
Matthew
Micah
Kean
Jackson
Julie
I'll try to come up with a few more...
I like the Tyson and Nolan suggestions too!
Those are good. I'm pretty committed to Nolan for my sweet computer guy. Sofia might be good for h2. I also think maybr Brian could work for a cop. Im still liking the name Eden as well.
Love the idea of killer corn....makes sense with all the corn additives in our food today. GMO's etcJerk= Richard the 3rd or something like that ( Dick behind his back in high school...only he thought that name was a compliment)
Jerk= Theodore (Theo for short) or Thadeous (Thad for short)
something pretentious but that can be broken down to something insignificant
Hero2 = Lamar, Quan, DeMarcus (something stereotypically African American, that would contrast with his appearance/albinism)
Hi Ormey! Thanks for stopping in. I like your jerk names. Richard being the most obvious for an asshole. Hes more a jock bully than pretentious. My albino is a white guy, but i like the names Lamar and Quan so much that i used them in other books. Lol. Girl im so scared of all the crap we put in food. Hopefully it doesnt really kill us all.
I got so many great suggestions. I'm going to ask for names more often. This is what I am thinking so far:H1- Nolan Avery. Love the name. Set in stone.
h1- Lisa
H2- Tyson Reid or Matthew
h2- Jacinda. H1 and h2 are best friends and so close that when they were growing up, everyone called them Jalisa. The jerk might be Keane or Richard.
