With his debut novel release, Neesa, C.T. Todd lead us into his world of vampire mythology with a strong lead in that keeps the reader waiting for the next page. We follow the lovely Neesa as she suffers brutally at the hands of vicious poachers who decide to hunt humans instead of the creatures in the forest. The story is easy to read and introduces the characters in such detail that the reader will feel they have known them personally.
Todd brilliantly crosses the thresholds of what we expect from the vampire world and delivers a new concept that will leave you spellbound. In Neesa, we walk through many adventures of her new undeath and watch as the battle between good and evil wars within. The battle to retain the light becomes the underlying theme of this novel, and you will find yourself cheering her on with each conflict she finds herself placed in.
We are also given a glimpse in Neesa about how the vampire curse affects her love interest, Wolf, during her transition. Wolf is a loveable character and you will feel your heart reach out to him, wanting to protect. With Wolf we discover the complexities of having to change roles in a relationship as Neesa becomes the stronger partner.
Neesa is a captivating story and will hold your attention until you reach the last page.
