MY Favorite

Of all the books I read, which were many, researching the Vietnam War for "The Five O'Clock Follies," this was my favorite: "Once Upon a Distant War."
William Prochnau, who died last month, was the ultimate reporter's reporter.

Nicole Hello Theasa,
I just finished reading "Flying Jenny" and I absolutely love it! One of the things that I really appreciated about the book was your attention to detail. I was able to vividly transport myself back to that period and experience what it was like to live during that era.

Questions:
You perfectly captured the era with your examples of dress, speech, moral decor and so many other areas. How did you prepare and what research did you utilize that allowed you to accurately convey the era?
I sensed that Laura was envious of Jenny and tried to live through her vicariously at times, would that be an adequate interpretation?

Theasa Tuohy Hello Nicole,
Thanks so much for your lovely comments! You're right about details. They require a great amount of research. I've got a shelf full of books that I used in my research = I must start listing them. It's a big job because there are so many. You've given me a good idea. I think I'll list them one at a time and comment. I haven't done that because I fear many of them would not be relevant to what most readers want. But I'm going to give it a try. Thanks again. Theasa
