The Joy of a Great Story
Great stories do something to you. They pull you in and add you to their world. Last night we saw Mission Impossible: Fallout, and like or hate Tom Cruise, that movie was amazing.
Over the years I have seen COUNTLESS ticking clocks in movies and read them in books. The hero cutting the wire with one second left to go is beyond cliche. Yet, somehow, they made it exciting beyond measure. Made you feel it.
I love this about movies and books. There are moments when you're watching and reading them where you want to stand up and shout. This happened to me while watching MI:F. On a side note, Henry Cavill is a certified badass.
I had this moment in Justice League when Superman said, "I believe in Truth," and again when Thor came to Wakanda during Infinity War.
It's one of those things that I try to do as a storyteller. Give the audience moments they can cheer about.
Bottom line, go see Mission Impossible.
Other news!
I'm hard at work on two projects right now, Arsenal 6 and my new series/spin-off superhero. I don't have a name or title I'm ready to share yet, but I can promise you it will be EPIC.
Arsenal 6 should be out late Aug early Sept if all goes well. When I know more, you'll no more. The new series I'm shooting to launch around October.
