message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes! The ". marks are in the Midnight Sun code too!

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

MT is in capitals in the Midnight Sun code

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Both codes have no letter 'O'

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

That's Jims monkey!

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

DR Weiss! He's a scientist at the lab!! DR

message 26: by Fran (new)

Fran What lab? And I don't think he is... Dr. is a pretty common title.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

At ARF from global apocalypse brand. I emailed ARF from global apocalypse brand! They said to get to a certain page you need a T.H.E.M. password! Any idea? I asked them where Jim is, and who is Dr Weiss. I'll tell you when I get the reply

message 28: by Fran (new)

Fran yeah I got a reply also... its telling me not to communicate with Jim or anyone associated with Jim... And also to give me any information on Jim I can get! I don't know what to do!

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Reply with another email, and then when they reply it talks about hackers. EXPERT HACKERS hacking INTO T.H.E.M's system.

message 30: by Rashae (new)

Rashae Whoa. Did you guys ever figure out the full message?

message 31: by Fran (new)

Fran nope not even one bit we were just guessing

message 32: by Rashae (new)

Rashae Jim, Bailey and I are quitting this whole thing until you tell us what's going on. This is getting way too serious.

message 33: by Jim (new)

Jim Hardison Hi Rashae, Frances, Josiah, Bailey and Lindsay

Please don't feel creeped out about anything. All of this was just meant for fun.

You guys still seemed eager for a mystery after the message from Trenton and several of you are so persistent and all of you are so clever at following clues that I thought I would oblige with some things to explore. Everything involving me, Chimchim, Hugo and GAB is just fiction. Nothing to worry about. Anything to do with The Mysterious Benedict Society or Pseudononymous Bosch I can't vouch for--those things are as big a mystery to me as they are to you all.

As to this adventure, well, I'd hate for anyone to be nervous about something that was supposed to be for fun, especially around the holidays when you should be worrying about presents and things. I'd feel bad if you were actually concerned. I'd also hate to be the one responsible for you ending what may be the longest thread within someone's blog comments that I've ever seen! You guys make a great team!

Yours,

Jim

message 34: by Jim (new)

Jim Hardison Whoops, sorry for mispelling your name, Lindsey.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Jim, if you want and have the time, can you keep doing it? Ophidian Grass. Where did you get MBBS?

message 36: by Rashae (new)

Rashae We're definitely in. At least I am. Bailey can vouch for herself. But sorry to cause so much trouble. So is this really a mystery? Did you really make it up Jim so we could figure it out? I didn't think it was that serious in the beginning anyway. But thank you!!! I will definitely keep going! Thank you so much!!! You don't know how much I have wanted something like this my whole life!!! So, don't leave. I will still be part of this team!!! Sorry to cause so much trouble.

message 37: by Jim (new)

Jim Hardison Well, all right then. I'll be slipping back into character in a moment, but please remember to treat all that happens like it's a book your reading (and just happen to be in) rather than a dark and scary reality. Okay. Please fasten your seat belts and keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times.

message 39: by Fran (new)

Fran HUGO??? SInce when do you have your own account? This is like the book Inkheart.... But more fun!

message 40: by Hugo (new)

Hugo Nebula This may be one of the few safe places to contact you, so I signed up for an account. They don't check at all to see if your name is real or merely a pseudonym. Is there any reason to suspect T.H.E.M. of monitoring this blog?

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes. Except the problem is, THEM are not hackers, the hackers are hacking to THEM

message 42: by Hugo (new)

Hugo Nebula What? Any hackers hacking THEM would undoubtedly be good guys trying to stop THEM from bringing about the global apocalypse. Please explain your comment in greater depth, Josiah.

message 43: by Fran (new)

Fran Josiah thinks that GAB is good..... I'm going to copy the last email they sent me... note the word euthanize

message 44: by Fran (new)

Fran Dear Frances,

We have extensive medical records for the monkey in question, which clearly show that we bought it directly from a firm that procures wild monkeys for medical research. Mr. Hardison stole the monkey from ARF, regardless of any claims he might make that he was "liberating" it due to mistreatment. Rest assured that we never mistreat our research animals. That would be foolish and wouldn't make good economic sense. We handle them with the greatest care in order to ensure that we get only the best, most reliable results from our experiments, and we euthanize each subject in a completely pain free procedure when we conclude our research. Mr. Hardison and his organization were completely in the wrong in this instance.

Yours very sincerely,
Mr. Ophidian Grass MBBS
President, Apocalypse Research Foundation

(no euthinize wasn't really bold but in this case i thought it needed to be)

message 45: by Fran (new)

Fran shoot... it made the whole rest of the comment bold... sorry

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Jim explained that there were evil hackers - not THEM, the evil hackers are hacking into THEM

message 47: by Hugo (new)

Hugo Nebula Josiah, assuming you understood him correctly, I'm not sure what Jim could have meant by that. THEM is an evil organization, which employs a number of evil hackers who have tried repeatedly to hack into Jim's organization. Jim also employs a number of hackers, all good guys, who have tried, on a number of occasions, to hack into THEM.

Frances, I can't imagine why anyone would think that GAB was good. It's just a front for ARF and THEM. And, of course, Jim took Chimchim from THEM because Chimchim got smart enough to sneak out of his cage and broadcast an S.O.S. in morse code, begging to be rescued. You wouldn't believe the evil plans ARF had in place for that poor monkey!

Hey. Wait a second...My computer just popped up a message that this blog is being monitored by THEM! Did someone tell THEM about this?

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

I told them about GoodReads, but not what posts. I never told them about STM or TLS' blog post. And no, I'm nlt on GAB's side, just undecided over who's good or bad.

message 49: by Hugo (new)

Hugo Nebula I see.

message 50: by Fran (new)

Fran I kind of told them about TLS.... I didn't think they were going to follow our conversation though.... They sent me an email and towards the end well he just says thank-you and ends the message... its weird.
