When I started writing, I made a choice to differentiate from other writers with my characters. I make them less than perfect, just like real people. In a few cases, some have fatal flaws. Also, I tend to write complex people and issues. The males tend to travel a bumpy road and can feel over-matched by the female characters. Those females travel their own ways which can be very difficult but for much different reasons. I'm more an action-line writer than a tedious describer because that's what I like to read.
