Sometimes, research is … not optimal!

As an author, research is both essential and — at times — difficult, so I decided to do something about that.

I created the Under Cloud to help me do research, and I use it to link to the reference articles for the novels I'm working on (the actual science for the "hard" sci-fi), and work-related things, too.

The number one thing I've learned after decades of doing research is that — for the most part — we're connecting things based on some context, which could be hierarchical, like: a family tree; a map of a computer network for an IT department; or the different parts of a novel, such as scenes, dialogue, and characters.

In this video on YouTube I'm going to demonstrate two common use cases writing and managing novels in the Under Cloud:

1. saving the reference material I've found and connecting it to the Notes I've written, capturing the learning process in action;

2. and creating connections between the different parts of a novel, to give it structure, and make it navigable.

Say hello to the Under Cloud!
