My Apology

I would like to apologize for the harm I have caused through my vulgar and sexual words, my poor judgment and my lack of respect for my colleagues.

Through my words and actions, I have made spaces that should be welcoming for all feel unsafe.  It was wrong of me to do so.  It was wrong of me not to consider the feelings and needs of those around me.  It was wrong of me to contribute to an atmosphere that made people unsafe.

I sincerely regret those choices I made and the ignorance not to realize the effect that those choices had.  I was too self-absorbed to see that my actions were making people feel unsafe and interpreted uncomfortable silence as acceptance.  I am sorry.

I have entered behavioral therapy and begun attending online sensitivity training to better understand the impact my words and actions have and to find actionable means of creating a better and more professionally-welcoming environment for all.  I am committed to doing the emotional labor needed and will remain off twitter and away from conventions so that I can do the work that needs to be done.

As further commitment to this, I am donating from the profits of my book sales to organizations that serve marginalized genders and identities.

I am truly sorry to those who I have harmed.

Sarah Wow. I have no idea what you did, but the person you are has resulted in you writing what has been one of my most enjoyed books (Seven Blades) in a long time. I can't wait to read Ten Arrows. I plan on reading your older books. Your bio says you're 25, which means the first Aeons' Gate novel was published when you were 15? That's pretty amazing. You have have insights I would expect from someone much older. Seems to me you are a unique and very interesting person, and I hope you keep on being you.

Furroy Yea I dunno what prompted this either? Take care of yourself Sam, I will miss the puppy pictures and your snarky wit!

Paulo "paper books only" Never apologise to twitter mobs.

TJ Enamored with Seven Blades and have moved on to book 2! This lady is excited and hopes December 22 release is still scheduled! Found myself relating to and laughing with and at these characters. I miss them when I'm not reading...... Not sure about the above. We live we learn we grow. But keep writing.

Desperadox Have you strangled a puppy? What's with all these excuses nowadays? Sticks and stones. People should stop worrying so much about words.

You nail it. Most of these writers don't even understand why they are apologising... they are so afraid of being canceled because they tweeted something that they makes apologies... reminds me of couples, of the man or woman apologising but not knowing but don't want to argue...

The problem with the writers, actors and so on, are so afraid of nobody buying their novels they ask for forgiveness They should grow a spine.

Unless they did something that is punishable by LAW - nothing is wrong. And if it's punishable by law - the law will judge, not twitter mob.
