I was so lucky to be interviewed by the BBC culture department this week discussing A Most English Princess. The reporter wanted to probe whether or not fiction is an effective way to explore and expose the lives of the people living in the royal fishbowl. And she asked me if I wished I had lived as Vicky did, with all the privileges and all the access and all the wealth. I have to say: no, I think it's not a deal I would take.
