Wise man that Jefferson

Richard wrote: "Wise man that Jefferson"
No doubt - he was a wise man. Nobody reads Jefferson today but he had interesting observations about banks, government, and society. Here is another quote that was written by his hand: "A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have."
Any thoughts?

Considering the times and what they were trying to get away from I'm sure all the founding fathers understood the dangers of government left unchecked, hence the wording of our declaration
