The Game of Life. May 16
I was playing the board game, The Game of Life with a friend of mine. This is my favorite board game! My career of choice was a Race Car Driver and I sped through, spinning high numbers and making decisions to that of a money-mogul. I refused to have kids. Never bought a house, took the risky outcomes and focused more on earning more Paydays. Though I retired earlier than my opponent (which constitutes more money in the bank! Ka-ching!), I still ended up losing!
As you know, in the board game...the more experiences you get...the more money you end up with in the end. And my friend ended up winning because he took his time in The Game of Life.
So, we played another round.
This time, I learned from my mistakes and embraced every experience on the board. I went to college and signed up for night school. I had 3 kids and changed careers multiple times. And steady and slow is the way to go… I was the last one to retire but ended up winning the game.
I learned a lot from playing this board game.
If I slow down....enjoy every experience...try not to race or compete...to not focus on gaining more money, but instead looking to enjoy every step...if I take a few risks and open myself to love...I can win my game.
I need to realize...Life isn't about being the first to finish... but about enjoying each spin of the wheel, every step of the journey, each peg on the car, every turned tile and yes, even every lost turn. Have fun on your personal Game of Life.
If you need prayer for anything, let me know. I would love to pray for you.
