I apologize for asking a question so off topic, but I did not know how else I might contact you.
As I read Chickadee I kept asking myself why the author was using the term "servant" for Chickadee when he was clearly being enslaved by his captors.
I understand it is a children's/young adult book, but the elements of slavery are present in the story, only the term is omitted. Could you address your choice of words?
