June 20. Good for you
I am back from my 21-day hiatus with God. It was a great time of refreshment, intercession and deep revelation. My spirit truly feels refreshed!
So, I am on a new diet. Not necessarily because I need to lose weight, but because I realized that what I was eating was very bad for me. Items like bread, cheese, desserts. I wasn't even thinking about what I ate, just eating anything I wanted!
But as I start to get older and see how others before me have health issues due to their unhealthy eating habits, I decided a change was in order. My husband, Travis, has always been a "health-nut" with what he eats, so he has encouraged me to incorporate more salads, fruits and vegetables into my meals.
At first I hated it! I thought...I am eating what the cows are eating! I was getting annoyed at going to the grocery store, carefully picking through select options for my meals.
Now, I have found that I enjoy and even start to crave vegetables and don't have an appetite for those “bad foods” anymore. And yes, I have lost weight, but was that really the point of all this?
I share this story for a few reasons:
1. If there is an area of your life that you need to change, ask God to help you to stay disciplined and focus on improving that area.
2. Look to the positive even in a situation you don't like. I don't like salads, but I have found vegetables that I do enjoy. Don't be discouraged...but stay positive and find what works best for you.
3. Find a support group who can help you with your new goals. I always let my husband buy my groceries now!
4. Pray for revelation and growth. Pray for wisdom and guidance. And allow the conviction of the Holy Spirit to improve your life for the better.
If you need prayer for anything, let me know. I would love to pray for you!
