My Review Policy

'Lizzy, why do you only give 5 stars to books.'

Well, this is an easy question.

I only review books I loved.

I'm an author so I'm not going to give another author 2 stars on their book. I prefer to say nothing.

There's plenty of full-time readers, bloggers, reviewers, and critcs that can do the critiquing.

In summary, if i five-star a book, it's because I really loved it. Not because I just five-star everything i read. x

Natalie That’s a nice policy and totally understand that. Better to just make it about books you adored and recommend.

I’m a bit weird but sometimes I’ve bought or borrowed a book on the basis of a 2 star review (that gave decent critique why). I know that sounds odd but sometimes that review can intrigue me enough to read for myself (it also depends on the plot, plot is everything for me. Certain types of stories aren’t my thing). Lots of times I’ve really liked it!

I know what you mean though, even if I don’t like a book, I will still respect how freaking hard it is to write one, and write something that a publisher can market (and deal with notes back from publishers or editors that might tear your work apart that you out your heart and soul over). No way I could do it.
