Really, Susan? Really?
Dear Readers,
ME: Before WHEN STARS COLLIDE was published, I very politely pointed out that it took me almost two years to write that book, and I respectfully—RESPECTFULLY—requested that you didn’t read it in ONE DAY. And what happened? Far too many of you did just that. Two years of my hard work consumed by you in one day! That’s just not right.
YOU THE READER: Really, Susan? Really? You’re lecturing us for enjoying your new book?
ME: (Backtracking, ever so slightly.) Not exactly lecturing. More pointing out that—
YOU THE READER: Stop right there! Do you seriously expect us to believe you aren’t flattered out of your mind that we couldn’t put Olivia and Thad’s story down?
ME: (In a very small voice.) Okay. You have a point.
YOU THE READER: You’re darned right! What are you going to complain about next, you ingrate? The fact that we, your loyal readers, put WHEN STARS COLLIDE at #12 on the USA TODAY Top 100 bestseller list? Number 12 of all the books sold in this country! And you’re complaining?
ME: (In an even smaller voice.) No, no. Not complaining… It’s just that--
Two years work consumed in one day?
YOU THE READER: It’s a fast read! And not everybody read it in a day. Some people took two days, three days. My friend took a week.
ME: (With a yelp) Someone took an entire week? I’m a failure! I’ll never write another book. (Quiet sob.)
YOU THE READER: (In a soothing voice) Come a little closer, dear SEP, so we can slap you upside the head!
AND…back to me being serious for a change.

I read it then I listened to it. I will repeat the process interspersing old favourites of yours along the way. This way it won't seeeeem quite so long a wait for the next one!! Sigh, I do love me some Annabelle and Heath!

It was a fun read. I particularly loved the opera touches. The heroine was so bad ass, and strong. Your heroines have always been funny and relatable, but this one was a great role model as well.
I followed your instructions.....it took me 1 - 1/2 days. I had some tasks that had to be completed. I thank you for the stories you have shared with us. And just so you know, I reread your books over and over.
