Interested in the Rapture?
If you are interested in the rapture, whether you have a strongly held position or not, I would like you to consider that the Scriptures show that the rapture is only a small part of a much bigger event. That event is the resurrection of the saints.I was a believer in the pre-tribulation position, but some things did not seem to fit right. That is why I decided to search the Scripture for everything pertaining to the resurrection, as the resurrection is the context for the “rapture”. It was never my intent to form a time-line for the “rapture”, nor was I attempting to comply with any view of the “rapture”. It was only my intent to search out from Scripture what it has to say about the resurrection of the saints. I was convinced by what I found that the rapture is only a small part of a much more significant event, which is the resurrection of all the saints of God. All the emphasis on the rapture has prevented most people in the church from seeing the big picture; which is the resurrection, not the rapture. I believe that Scripture teaches that there are only two resurrections. In Malachi 3:16, it says that anyone who fears God and meditates on His name is written in a book of remembrance. In Daniel 12:1-2, it says that everyone found written in the book will be resurrected to eternal life. In Rev. 20:1-15, it says that everyone found written in the book will be a partaker of the first resurrection unto eternal life, which by the context shows that the beheaded martyred are included, and all that are not found written in the book of life will be cast into the lake of fire, at the end of the Millennium.
