Spies in Disguise
I saw the movie, Spies in Disguise, over the weekend through Amazon Video and really enjoyed it. Yes, there is some crude humor, but overall, it's super funny. Think Despicable Me, Flushed Away, or even Madagascar.
The storyline is awesome--there's so much to analyze as an author. The characters are multidimensional and their expressions and dialogue are spot-on. I couldn't stop laughing (sans crude moments.) Lance, as a pigeon, has such a relatable attitude most of the time. Walter, the boy, is relatable as well. The animation and graphics are impressive, as is the music. My favorite scene is when the villain--Killian--attacks Walter. Killian makes for a great bad guy.
I have to say that this movie definitely gave me Disney vibes. There are several scenes I enjoy dissecting.
Not only that, but I found a lot good messages in this movie, such as the desire to help people instead of using force to get one's point across. Loyalty, too. Walter staunchly refuses to harm anyone and wants to turn those who are evil to good and sticks with this mindset, despite Lance's cynicism. He and Lance make a great and hilarious team. The humor/action is often cartoony and goofy, which makes it all the more enjoyable, in my opinion. Think Tom & Jerry, and Looney Tunes.
I highly recommend this movie to anyone who simply wants good entertainment.
