hedgehog-moss:
Snowdrops have been very valiantly trying to emerge over the past few days, it was adorable! In French they are known as perce-neige, snow-piercers, which is less poetic but does more justice to their efforts.
On Sunday the snow was almost gone and they were starting to feel victorious \o/
It was like watching a very slow-motion version of these movie scenes in which zombies pop up out of the ground in a graveyard.
Monday—I found the first open flowers, here and there, but most of them were still timidly closed.
Which brings us to Tuesday. I knew today was the day. I went into the woods looking for boundless carpets of snowdrops, and found nothing but small isolated groups here and there. It was disappointing.
But then! Pandolf found them!!
Finally, snowdrops as far as the eye can see <3
Congratulations to Pandolf, who was not actually certain of what we were looking for and idly meandered his way into success, a strategy he now recommends to all.
