I went up to New York and Connecticut for a writing retreat and to visit family. While there, I finalized

. My rescue mutt, Zeus, road tripped it with me and he got to see snow for the first time. He was super apprehensive at first, but then he got the zoomies in full force. One of the highlights was getting to spend time with my best friend, who I hadn't seen in far too long.

February 2022







I spent a week aboard the Norwegian Encore, making stops in St. Thomas, Tortola, and Puerto Plata. It was a much needed trip after having a really rough month emotionally. I made a great new friend who happens to be a firefighter and a former Army Ranger, because of course that's who I'd randomly meet and befriend . 





The trip started off strong when I got a free room upgrade and won a spa credit. Getting to watch the Superbowl on the pool deck was pretty cool, too, and I might have to make that a tradition. Unfortunately, we had to skip our stop in the Bahamas, but the rest of the trip was wonderful. I went out on a catamaran in St. Thomas and got to snorkel a shipwreck and swim with the sea turtles. In Tortola, BVI I had a relaxing beach day and explored the island a bit, deciding that I totally want to move there! In the Dominican Republic, I went hiking and ziplining then got to slide down and jump off a bunch of waterfalls before exploring downtown Puerto Plata. Overall, the trip was exactly what I needed to get out of my funk. 







Oh, and I started writing a new book!
