In the times of old, people were named according to their destiny or something they were born to achieve. The name Mephibosheth means dispeller or exterminator of shame. He was born to exterminate any form of shame around his family, nation, and generation. He was an exceptional child.



Going by this, Mephibosheth was never destined to be in a shameful situation. He was rather to dispel shame or bring as many as God brought his way, out of shameful situations and circumstances.


But life happens!

The one who was to be a shoulder for the weak, a refuge for the ashamed and disgraced, and help for the distressed, found himself in the very position from which he was meant to rescue others.

He fell into the position of affliction and rejection by virtue of circumstance. He was born great, but became wrongly positioned, afflicted, and rejected, far against his desire. He was born great, but found himself helplessly in the midst of difficulty.

Maybe you, too, have once been in a position of affluence and influence, but suddenly found yourself unexplainably brought to a position that is the complete opposite of where God had placed you. I want to assure you that God will rightly position you again.

God does not need to take permission from anyone to do what he wants to do in your life. He does not need to consult with anyone to do what He would do for you. He will rightly position you again to enjoy all the benefits He had stipulated for your life.

Like Mephibosheth, you may feel downcast whenever you look at where you find yourself compared to where God had once established you. But our God is a professional in restoring people to where they rightly belong in life. And that shall be your testimony, in the Name of Jesus Christ.
