James Potter and the Morrigan Web

You all know I can't stay away from the James Potter world forever. Now that "Ruins of Camelot" is out, I have finally officially returned to the JP series and resumed work on "James Potter and the Morrigan Web".

This book will take us back to Hogwarts, however we will find the school term a rather different experience than ever before. In keeping with the theme of creating parallels between the JP books and their HP counterparts, we will be exploring some additional magical schools (as Ms. Rowling did in "Goblet of Fire").

I won't give too much away, except to say that we should expect to visit some new locations and perhaps even encounter some old familiar faces.

Additionally, we'll be sinking a bit further into the megaplot-- the over-arching story that comprises the entire series. This will involve some serious questions about Petra-- can she really control the evil that lives in her?-- and Judith, the Lady of the Lake-- what is her continuing plan for chaos, and how will it involve her "sister fates", Petra and Izzy?

Of course, we will also be exploring in much more detail the expanding relationships of James, Rose, Ralph, Zane, Scorpius, and many others, including (finally!) Lily, the youngest Potter, who will be attending Hogwarts for the first time.

One last tidbit that might prove interesting: this year will see some much more active involvement from adult Harry himself. We will find that his involvement in the events at the end of "Vault of Destinies" have placed him in a tenuous position with the Ministry, thus forcing him to get rather more creative in his efforts, not only as head Auror, but as husband and father. Harry will prove, methinks, that he is still the stuff of heroes.

If you would like to follow along as the new tale is written, I will be posting page counts, hints and tidbits on the James Potter Series facebook page and the official Hogwarts Next Generation Twitter feed. Sign up, spread the word, and look for the new book this Autumn!

And as always, onward and upward!

G. Lippert Thanks, Arni. And I have very much enjoyed all of your very thoughtful and interesting reviews (particularly of "The Riverhouse"). (:

message 3: by Elaine (new)

Elaine White Totally agree Arni, the partial Morrigan Web has me waiting eagerly for the rest. x

message 4: by Arni Vidar (new)

Arni Vidar Bjorgvinsson Hah.. a writer that enjoys having his ego stroked? Impossible! ;)

The Riverhouse is an amazing read, and well deserving of the 5 stars I rated it. Now I'm looking forward to reading Ruins of Camelot. I already bought it and have it in my TBR pile.

Amy Your Potter Books are fantastic and I can't wait for this one. When do you think it will be released??I certainly can't wait...It was depressing that you had Lucy killed...She was my favorite character in the series so far..:(

message 10: by G. (new)

G. Lippert Lucy is a fave of mine as well, and I was very sad to see what happened. I know this sounds like a terrible cop-out, but the story demanded it, and I learned long ago not to stand in the way of the story. But somehow, someway, I don't think we have heard the last from Lucy...

message 11: by Princess1123 (new)

Princess1123 i think u are brilliant and u really should write more than 7 books, because after i read the last harry potter story, i was sad that there were no more! but when i was web searching and saw the james potter series, i just couldn't beleive my eyes!!! people thhink that i am too young for things like harry potter, but i like him and his son anyway!!!

Thank you, Princess! That begs the question: how old are you?

message 13: by Arni Vidar (new)

Arni Vidar Bjorgvinsson Is there such a thing as too young/too old for any literature? (excepting obvious R-17 stuff)

message 14: by Princess1123 (new)

Princess1123 when i first started reading harry potter books, i was about in the 4rth grade, now i am in 6th grade. the thing is, when i start a book, i cant let it out of my hands until i finish it, so i sit hours reading, and finish the book!

message 15: by Veselina (new)

Veselina You, sir Lippert, are a fine gentleman!!

I cannot begin to express how happy I am to have stumbled upon yor James Potter series! I'm still on the Hall of Elders' Crossing, but I already can't put the book down! I can't wait to see how the story goes and I'm even more impatient to read the following books from the series! Keep up the good work and as you quite brilliantly put it yourself "onward and upward"!

message 16: by Namrta (new)

Namrta I love james potter series. The books are wow! Your imagination is amazing and your writing style is lucid and vivacious. Best wishes for the new book.

message 17: by Corine (new)

Corine I've recently finished reading JP series and the other short novels and I can say you're really exceeded my expectations. At first, I was disappointed when I learned that J.K. isn't the author however after reading the Harry's First Christmas, I'm hooked. You have this writing ability to bring out words-play as if I'm watching the scenes come to life while reading it. But there's a disadvantage to this because at the time I was reading the Vault of Destinies, its around 3 in the wee hours of morning. The only illumination coming from my phone where I'm reading the book. I'm really spooked but continued reading anyways. :)

message 18: by Noninuna (new)

Noninuna omg.cant wait for the next book!
curiosity is killing me after the 3rd one.
& Lily Potter, at last~

message 19: by Gaurang (new)

Gaurang Hey I Have read all the three new JP books in a week now waiting for the fourth one....

message 20: by Jeffbish (new)

Jeffbish hahah Gaurang, I am exactly the same! I only just discovered the James Potter fan fiction 4 days ago and I've literally been super glued to my chair reading them. Just finished the 3rd book and now i'm going to be biting my finger nails waiting for the other book. You should propose a joint venture with JKR, GNL!

message 21: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Welkinawe I just finished the first James Potter book and must say I was quite impressed and enjoyed it a lot...I am of the generation that gave HP to her own kids but read them all herself. So I guess one generation older then the actors from the movies. I am a book fan before all else and read constantly. That being said, I also enjoy movie adaptations and other interpretations. This is the first time I have read fan fiction. I think I started with a master! Can't wait to keep going...

Thanks so much, Ashley! I will admit that the term fan fiction was foreign to me when I started JPHEC, and even now I have yet to really read much other fan fiction (although I know that if you did you can find some worthwhile stuff-- you just have to REALLY dig!) Thanks for the encouraging words! JPMW will be out late this fall, and I am really excited about it.

message 23: by Tanisha (new)

Tanisha Bates Can you please give a specific date when the Morrigan's web will come out, or at least a spicific month... I just can't wait.

message 24: by Akanksha (new)

Akanksha Singh Yours is the best HP fan fic out there. I was really disappointed when the last HP book came out but when I literally stumbled upon JP series I can't tell you how glad I was. I've been waiting(rather impatiently) for the next book in the series so a fixed date to look forward to would be great.

message 25: by Asha (new)

Asha Seth Cant wait for the fourth book in the series, G. I enjoyed your James Potter Series a lot. Wasnt much thrilled with Petra's story though(The Girl on the Dock) but it is a good insight on her life nonetheless.

When do we expect the 4th book in the series? Could you shed some light on that?

-Asha

message 26: by Avinav (new)

Avinav nice

message 27: by Tjardaa (new)

Tjardaa De groot I really liked your books, and I must say I was a little upset when I finished the third book to find out, there wasn't a fourth one yet. So now I guess I'll just have to wait. But thank you for making the Harry Potter series live beyond the last book. I started to read Harry Potter when I was 8 years old, and I loved it. now I'm 18 and I've read the books a million times. so i hated to see it end. But thanks to you, I can enjoy reading about hogwarts in new story's
thanks a lot !!!

Calley Waggonner I absolutely LOVE your series. I've been in love with Harry Potter since I was 6, and I discovered the JP series a week ago. I finished VOD on Monday, but I read that you had discontinued work on Morrigan Web. I was pretty sad, actually... Anyway, I am really glad that I found this post. Thanks for your work :) if there is anything that I as a reader can do to support you to make your writing go more smoothly (and put those of us waiting on edge out of our misery sooner) let me know!

message 44: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Tinervia WOW! I have to say I was a little skeptical when I started reading your first JP book, but it didn't take long for it to grab hold of me and take me into his world. You have done a wonderful job keeping with the HP characters and as I've now read the first 3 JP books I see them play out in my head like a movie. How fantastic is that. I can hardly wait for you to finish #4. You've made me laugh, cry, angry and giggle with your writing, please don't stop.

message 45: by Hanna (new)

Can I suggest you read the Harry Potter books? They're a little different to the movies because there is more in the books than they could fit into the films. Some of the differences are better in the book. Also, it's quite nice to read all of HP and then go straight into JP. :D

message 50: by Ljuvica (new)

Ljuvica I have read all your books and I must say you are an amazing writer! Not only do I enjoy the structure and wording, but the development of the story itself and the characters keeps me addicted to reading until I finish the book. You have made me fall in love with the James Potter universe and I'm reallllyyy looking forward to your next book and Lily! I was hoping to hear more about her throughout the first 3 books, I bet she is going to be amazing! I also love how you portrayed Albus. Definitely interesting...makes me wonder if he's good or not. I will definitely spread the word, don't stop writing!
