I sent an email to my Supervisor who works in a different state. The question remained unanswered from the email I sent out. Finally, hours later, I write a follow-up email since the response was needed for a timely issue. The Supervisor's comment was that he never saw my previous email, implying that he's too covered in emails to notice mine.

I think this is a good description of life.

I don't ever want to ever allow life to smother me so much where I cannot hear from Jesus. I don't ever want too many voices around me where I cannot recognize the voice of my Creator. I don't ever want to be pushed and pulled in several directions that I no longer have an idea of God's will, God’s path, God’s plan.

God, I pray that you will remove cluster and excess from our lives. I pray for more simplistic days with even more simplistic decisions. I pray God that you will keep us solid and steady and on the right course. And I pray God that when you talk to us, we will hear you first, foremost and respond right away. Thank you, God for helping us to put time with you as a priority. I never want to be so bogged down that I miss you and I miss what you are doing. In the name of Jesus Christ!
