I’m away in South Australia at the moment — going to the Romance Writers of Australia annual conference. It hasn’t started yet — tomorrow evening is my first engagement, the Harper Collins author cocktail party. It’s always crowded, loud and exuberant, as authors meet up with friends they probably haven’t seen since the last conference.
I’m currently holed up in my room, enjoying to view from my hotel window.
Pretty good, eh? Just sea and sky. So peaceful.
I’m also playing it quiet as I’m getting over a cold. So annoying. I haven’t had a cold or the flu or CoVid since before Covid hit us, and now, just when I don’t need it, I have a cold! I’ve been very careful, too, wearing a mask etc in crowded or busy places. So I’m grumpy.
I’m taking all kinds of things to minimize the symptoms — I’m getting better, but my worry is that my voice will give out during my 90 minute workshop. So I’m woking on my presentation so that if I do end up croaking horribly I can still get my points across.
Anyway, enough grumping — here’s another view from my window.
When I arrived I was pretty hungry — it was 3pm and I’d only had a few strawberries for breakfast — clearing out the fridge — so I ordered fish and chips for lunch. And it was deeelish!
Do you like fish and chips?
It seemed the most appropriate thing to eat sitting and gazing out over the sea,
Anyway, not sure if I’ll have time to post much over the next few days. Stay safe — and don’t catch any rotten colds!
