Dangerous AI - II
So yes, I really try to stay non-political here, yet I will stand by my views and beliefs.
I used to, for my hunting scenes, particularly in The Sun Also Sets, have a hunter with a gun. Now all guns have been banned from AI. I was interested in that of course and asked the AI to do the Battle of Gettysburg...history. Now, in the past the AI had done this before, and it was a beautiful wide angle depiction that seemed very real...I have been able to trace my second great-grandfather as a Union Private (drafted) in the Civil War, and have interest in this period of history - so much so that I plan to write a historical fiction novel with him in it at some point in the next 5-6 years.
All that said, the AI informed me that Gettysburg was too sensitive and too offensive to draw. So I asked the AI, as a direct descendent of a Revolutionary War Hero, to draw the Revolutionary War...again, the AI refused.
Now folks, I keep saying "AI" here, but we really have not reached the point of true AI - that is AI that learns from its mistakes and grows in knowledge - no the AI we are dealing with today isn't really AI, it is still "the man behind the curtain" pushing all the buttons - at least programming the AI to think.
So we have computer developers out there telling us what to think and what to believe in, what is morally wrong and right - and who believe Gettysburg and the Revolutionary War are offensive.
Again, that is scary.
